In an alternate reality within Doctor Strange. Daredevil is known for being a hero who refuses to give up his morals even if it means for the greater good despite being trained by a man who constantly pushed him to kill his enemies. In this alternate universe, Daredevil is much more comfortable being a murderous antihero after he underwent training by the Sorcerer Supreme himself. The resulting circumstances surrounding Daredevil in this universe is his newfound inclination towards murderous justice while wearing a suit that is by far the coolest he has ever worn.
In What If…? #83 titled “What If Daredevil Was The Disciple of Doctor Strange” by Mike Baron, Rafael Kayanan, Christie Scheele, and Steve Dutro, Daredevil ed the ranks of the villainous ninja clan known as the Hand after being trained by Doctor Strange. Though he ed the Hand, Daredevil fights against them after they kidnap Elektra as Daredevil made it clear she was not to be harmed. Elektra’s ally, however, is not so off -limits as she is working with Doctor Strange to take down the evil ninjas. While trying to prove himself superior to his former master, Daredevil attacks Doctor Strange, reigniting a rivalry that began when Daredevil first betrayed the Sorcerer Supreme to become a member of the Hand.
After being trained by Doctor Strange, Daredevil became a villain when he betrayed Strange and ed the Hand. Upon his villainous metamorphosis, Daredevil upgraded his costume to a look that is by far the coolest of his comic book career. Daredevil’s suit is an armor-plated version of his classic red Daredevil suit, with sharp metal horns and a mouth covering in the vein of villain the Shredder. The classic ninja-style suit with reinforced armor and gnarly sharp edges gives the Man Without Fear a fear-inducing look that lives up to this villainous iteration.
While this is the first and only time fans are able to see Daredevil sport his coolest costume, it isn’t the first time Daredevil has been a member of the Hand. In fact, in Daredevil #500, Daredevil became the leader of the evil ninja clan. After coming to the conclusion that the ancient ninja order is basically unstoppable, Daredevil decides to take over as their leader in order to curb the damage the villainous group inflicts upon the world. Unfortunately, Daredevil only gets a new set of robes upon ing the Hand in the main continuity instead of the awesome costume he receives in the What If…? storyline.
The reason this costume is the coolest of Daredevil’s suits is because it stays true to the classic suit enough while simultaneously uniquely upgrading its design. Daredevil is clearly recognizable with the red coloring and "DD" logo on the chest with a set of horns to match, but the suit takes those classic elements and adds a sharp, villainous edge. From the mouth covering reminiscent of the Shredder to the armored upgrade giving it the look of a deadly ninja warrior, Daredevil got his alternate costume after betraying Doctor Strange and it is by far his best suit yet.
