With Jessica Jones coming back in best MCU TV shows. I love how the series is a multi-season project from the get-go and how Marvel Studios is taking it in a direction that makes the show deeply important for the MCU's street-level corner.

Krysten Ritter's Jessica Jones is coming back to the MCU, and I believe that her return opens the door for a character to die in season 2.

Jessica Jones Returning For Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 Makes A Lot Of Sense

Jessica Jones And Matt Murdock Have Interacted Before

There are a few reasons why I always expected Jessica Jones to be coming back when it came to Netflix's The Defenders Saga characters. The three best shows of the franchise were Charlie Cox's Daredevil, Jon Bernthal's The Punisher, and Krysten Ritter's Jessica Jones. Only Daredevil and Jessica Jones managed to release three seasons before the shows were canceled, so it always made sense to me that Marvel would think highly of Ritter's portrayal of Jessica.

Thunderbolts* sets up the perfect role for Daredevil in Avengers: Doomsday, and the Marvel Cinematic Universe hero can help the team in a crucial way.

Additionally, of the other of The Defenders, Jessica Jones had more chemistry and screen time with Daredevil than either Luke Cage or Iron Fist did. I loved the heroes' dynamic, and I think it makes sense that the MCU is using it again. Daredevil: Born Again season 1's ending perfectly set up Jessica Jones' return. With Mayor Fisk declaring that all vigilantes are outlaws and Daredevil creating an army, Jessica seems like a natural fit for it.

I’m Convinced That Jessica Jones’ Return Means Cherry Will Die

Daredevil: Born Again Season 1 Introduced New Characters

While Daredevil: Born Again brought back multiple characters from The Defenders Saga, the MCU series also set up a few new core players for the show. One of those important characters is Clark Johnson's Cherry. The character is a former NYPD officer who discovered that Matt Murdock was Daredevil on the night Bullseye killed Foggy Nelson. After Daredevil: Born Again's time jump, Cherry assisted Matt as a private investigator for his law firm, keeping Daredevil's identity secret.

With Jessica Jones being Marvel's most popular P.I. and her Netflix series showcasing Jessica's extensive experience in the area, I believe she will come back to serve the same role. With Daredevil's army going underground to escape Fisk's Anti-Vigilante Task Force, Matt will need people who are good at recruiting and finding leads for them. Krysten Ritter's MCU return as Jessica Jones makes Cherry's role redundant, and so, the character could be a goner. Since Cherry stood by Matt's side through his darkest period when he did not have Foggy or Karen Page, I think his death would be heartbreaking.

Jessica Jones’ Daredevil: Born Again Return Paves The Way For More The Defenders Saga Stars

Netflix's Heroes Would Be The Perfect Players For Daredevil's New MCU Army

While Daredevil: Born Again season 1's ending reveal of Matt Murdock's plans for an army to take New York City back from Kingpin was exciting, it ended up being lackluster in a way. That is because Daredevil was the only hero shown in the army's initial lineup, which led to criticism from fans, especially given how many street-level heroes operate out of NYC in the MCU. However, Jessica Jones' Daredevil: Born Again season 2 role changes things.

If Cherry dies and Jessica Jones takes his place, it would be a sign that Marvel is moving towards Daredevil's army being made up of MCU heroes, not ing players. Adding to the theory is a Daredevil: Born Again season 2 set video shared by @chrisagwrites on Twitter of a member of Fisk's Anti-Vigilante Task Force repeatedly hitting Cherry. With Jessica Jones in season 2, the door is open for Mike Colter's Luke Cage, Finn Jones' Iron Fist, and more The Defenders Saga heroes to Daredevil's army, and Daredevil: Born Again would be better off for it.
