It seems that the Thanos isn't the only one with an Darkseid. The Green Lantern: Season Two revealed a variant of the New God that harnessed a cosmic power of his own to fashion his take on the iconic weapon.

Both the Marvel and DC Universes have weapons that defy comprehension with their level of power. Whether it's the Cosmic Cube, the Mother Boxes of Apokolips, both worlds have items that are true game-changers. But one of the most powerful cosmic weapons in either universe is the Infinity Gauntlet that harnesses the tremendous abilities of the six Infinity Stones. The Mad God Thanos fashioned the ornate gauntlet in his bid to win the favor of Lady Death by killing half the universe. Since Thanos' initial attack, the Infinity Gauntlet has remained a frightening symbol of power and might.

As it turns out, DC's own universal despot has his own version of the Infinity Gauntlet, and it may give Thanos a run for his money. Fans got a glimpse at DC’s powerful relic in The Green Lantern: Season Two #10 by Grant Morrison and Liam Sharp. Green Lantern is knee-deep in a multiverse-spanning conflict known as the Ultrawar, where he is dealing with villain known as the Golden Destroyer. While the hero and Star Sapphire manage to stun their colossal foe, the Destroyer opens up a portal for an army to storm in from the Dark Multiverse. Among the many twisted nightmares to emerge from the rift, one is a Darkseid bearing some familiar rings. On their Substack, Grant Morrison confirms one of the Dark Multiverse worlds has Darkseid with a collection of the Emotional Spectrum's rings.

How Powerful Is Darkseid's Infinity Gauntlet?

Darkseid Emotional Spectrum Rings Infinity Gauntlet DC Comics

The Emotional Spectrum is, of course, the energy source where the Green Lantern Corps and their various sister organizations draw their powers from. Each light is a force capable of empowering an army, and when the seven lights are brought together, they re-form the White Light of Creation. Theoretically, a union of seven Power Rings could allow its to channel the most powerful aspects of the Emotional Spectrum, including the ability to resurrect the dead.

Granted, this version of Darkseid is only a variant from an unstable world. But it’s interesting to see what a hypothetical version of Thanos’ ultimate weapon would look like in the DC Universe. Sure, the Anti-Life Equation may give Darkseid what he truly wants in the form of total rule over sentient beings. However, the assembly of the seven lights of the Emotional Spectrum would give Darkseid a unique weapon (especially since the White Lantern Corps doesn’t appear to be active anymore). While it might not be something the New God is actually interested in collecting, DC fans have a hint at what Darkseid's Infinity Gauntlet could actually look like one day.
