The  Deathloop, got a new, stylish gameplay trailer that highlights some of the witty dialogue which will be present in the game, alongside new combat. The trailer was premiered at the tail end of PlayStation's 2021 State of Play stream, and showed off more gameplay ahead of the game's September 14 release date.

Just last week, Deathloop's file size was leaked by PlayStation, revealing it to be smaller than expected. Of course, Deathloop was never touted as a particularly major game, but for comparison, Deathloop will take up less space than Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart (which itself is regarded as having a small file size). However, just because the game does not eat up hard drive space, does not mean it is lacking in content. The latest trailer from PlayStation's State of Play proves exactly that.

July's Colt is shown using his abilities in clever ways to activate turrets and teleport into certain rooms and windows.

Also in the trailer, viewers got a look at the game's main antagonist, Julianna. According to the trailer, Julianna can be controlled either by another player, or an A.I., and seemingly shows up randomly. Another interesting facet of Julianna's character is that she will also call Colt to tease and antagonize him throughout the player's mission. It is unclear what relationship the two have, although Julianna herself does allude to it. In response to Colt saying that he does not care what she calls herself, Julianna responds, "but you did. once," before sniping Colt from a nearby window.

In a game with only 16 map variations to explore, the true value of Deathloop will come from repeated playthroughs, as players collect information, decide the best course of action and, unlike in the trailer, successfully avoid getting assassinated by Julianna. The trailer was focused primarily on Colt, so it is currently unclear what changes the player will experience if playing as Julianna (outside of hunting Colt).

The trailer reaffirmed that Deathloop will release on September 14, which means players will be ready to dive into the island of Blackreef sooner rather than later. Those who have not seen the trailer and still do not know what to expect from this time-loop themed action-adventure/puzzle should definitely give it a watch, as Deathloop is shaping up to be a fun game with more depth than initially meets the eye.
