latest expansion, The Witch Queen, exploring the wide variety of new features it has to offer. However, no expansion can be defined without its new weapons, and The Witch Queen has certainly dropped some new and unique options.
Bungie has kept its promise to introduce close to 50 new weapons this time around, giving guardians more options than ever. In this new sandbox, a few key legendary weapons have risen to the top and proved to be must-haves for any player jumping into the game.
Krait
Ever since stasis weapons were officially introduced to the legendary pool last season, the desirability for kinetic weapons has been reinvigorated. Krait is no exception, with a ton of powerful and unique perk combos to round out any build.
Most notably, perks like "subsistence", "overflow", "one-for-all", and "headstone" make this an ad-clear machine that requires little-to-no reloading in the right situations. It only drops from the world pool of weapons, so it's in players' best interest to start grinding out gunsmith ranks for this one.
Deliverance
Keeping on topic with stasis weapons, Deliverance marks the very first legendary fusion rifle to be introduced as a kinetic weapon. It's also a precision frame option, which competes with the top-tier fusion rifles in the current sandbox.
This is especially enticing for PvP players who love fusion rifles, as it currently allows for the use of energy primary options for the first time ever. With popular dueling options like "successful warm-up" and "tap the trigger", PvP players are going to want to hop into the new raid to get this weapon.
Forbearance
When Salvager's Salvo was introduced in Season of the Risen, players immediately recognized how powerful special grenade launchers could be in PvE activities. However, with Forbearance dropping from the new raid, it has overtaken Salvo to become the new leader in its capabilities.
As a wave frame launcher, this weapon covers the ground with an arc pool that damages anything in its path. The target roll that players will want to go for involves the perk "chain reaction", which causes elemental detonations for every enemy killed.
The Enigma
The Witch Queen has introduced a massive amount of new features, with one of its most impactful being an all-new weapon type, the glaive. The Enigma is the first of its kind, allowing for close-up melee combat, projectile damage, and shields all in one weapon.
Paired with the seasonal mod "suppressive glaive", this weapon is a great option for those who want to run around the battlefield with maximum lethality. It's available simply through the Witch Queen expansion campaign, making it one of the easiest new weapons to earn.
Thoughtless
Sniper rifles have always been a great option for high-end encounters, and the new perks that can roll on this sniper prove why. Whether it be for quick burst damage or a sustained boss fight, Thoughtless gives guardians options for any situation.
Perhaps the most powerful combination is "overflow" with "focused fire", which doubles the magazine size while increasing damage for precision shots. For PvP buffs, it can also roll with "snapshot sights" and has relatively low zoom, making it great for snappy gameplay.
Aisha's Embrace
Every season, a new weapon is introduced to Trials of Osiris, the endgame PvP playlist that pits teams of three into elimination matches. This season's weapon is Aisha's Embrace, a rapid-fire void scout rifle that certainly doesn't disappoint.
With a meta lacking in scouts, Aisha's Embrace shines above the rest as a smooth option that feels great with equally great perks. It's the only weapon able to roll with "triple tap" and "fourth time's the charm", instantly reloading the weapon for players skilled enough to land those headshots.
Palmyra-B
Rocket launchers went generally unnoticed for the majority of Destiny 2's lifespan, but their buff in Season of the Chosen made them a top choice once again. Palmyra-B represents the best in class for the weapon type, offering great perk combinations for any player.
For ad-clear, "chain reaction" and "chill clip" are great, while "explosive light", "lasting impression", and "auto-loading holster" are perfect for boss encounters. Even though it's a world pool weapon, it's one of the few featured in weapon crafting, allowing anyone to make their perfect roll.
Razor's Edge
Similar to Trials of Osiris, Iron Banner introduced a few new weapons to its playlist, with the best being Razor's Edge. It's a vortex frame too, which allows powered attacks to create a massive whirlwind AOE effect on par with other exotic weapons.
Alongside Hero of Ages from the Grasp of Avarice dungeon, this sword rolls with "chain reaction", making it ideal for hoards of grouped enemies. Paired with "unrelenting" or "wellspring", this allows guardians to tear through the battlefield with insane health and ability uptime.
Father's Sins
Another sniper introduced this expansion, Father's Sins is a rapid-fire void weapon obtainable via The Wellspring activity in Savathun's Throne World. It is also craftable after a decent grind, meaning guardians can hand-pick any perk selection they want.
As opposed to other sniper frames, rapid-fire options are ideal for burst damage, or a large amount of damage in a short window of time. With this weapon's perk combinations, there is no better option for long-range battles taking place over a greater distance.
Funnelweb
If there's one weapon players won't stop talking about this season, it's Funnelweb. Touted as the "Recluse 2.0", it has an identical look, feel, and lethality to the famous pinnacle weapon in nearly every respect.
Paired with the new Void 3.0 system, Funnelweb cannot be beaten in of sheer destruction. Volatile rounds on Funnelweb make every slain enemy detonate, while the perks optimize ammo, damage, and ability uptime. It's another world pool weapon, but the RNG grind is absolutely worth it.
