Apple TV+’s historical comedy Dickinson has confirmed a third season and it is set to feature new faces to guest star alongside Hailee Steinfeld. The series follows the young poet Emily Dickinson (Steinfeld) through her coming-of-age story in 19th century Massachusetts as she works to solidify her voice during an era of major social change. Along her journey, Emily encounters a number of familiar historical figures, each played by a notable celebrity.
Dickinson’s third and final season takes place during the American Civil War, as Emily contends with her personal success as the country falls apart around her. Tension within her own family comes to a head as well, leaving Emily to fight a barrage of personal and national battles to survive. While the Alena Smith-created Apple TV+ show takes inspiration from the real poet’s work and life, it does so through a more modern sensibility to invite viewers closer to Emily’s rebellious point of view.
