Digimon Adventure -BEYOND- is the latest and, lamentably, final entry in the original anime’s story. This short video gave fans a peek at what promises to be one of the most exciting stories Tai and his friends have ever been a part of. While no further details have been released about its continuation, fans have already taken it into their own hands to analyze the plot of the anime and see what interesting details they can find.
One of the most fascinating features viewers have noticed is the return of one of the franchise’s most beloved evolution methods, Armor Digievolution. Moreover, the music video for the adventure of the Adventure cast and the original Digimon team proves that this mechanic will be more important than ever. The DigiDestined from 02 seems to be learning more about the Digimental and what it means to be one of the chosen children.
Adventure 02’s Cast Has Learned the True Power of Armor Evolution
They Can Seemingly Interchange Their Digimentals and Crests
The 25th anniversary celebratory video, known as Digimon Adventure -BEYOND-, is a prelude to a rumored soon-to-be-released text-only story revolving around the DigiDestined and their friends. The PV depicted several scenes that fans will be able to read once the plot of this adventure becomes available. One of the most interesting insights is the cast of the 02 anime traveling through the Digital World while being followed by herds of diverse Digimon. Experienced fans will know that the creatures introduced in the video are alternative forms of the heroes’ partners, empowered by the various Digimentals.
When Ken makes an appearance guiding a group of flying Digimon, his Wormmon has evolved into Pucchiemon, a creature that can only be born with the Kindness Digimental.
This means that, during the next and final adventure of the original anime’s cast, the second generation of DigiDestined will have access to new Armor Digievolutions. -BEYOND- does not make it clear if the heroes will be able to interchange their crests with each other, but the images shown do seem to hint at this being a possibility. When Ken makes an appearance guiding a group of flying Digimon, it becomes apparent that his Wormmon has evolved into Pucchiemon. This creature can only be born when Ken’s partner uses the Kindness Digimental.

After Being Stripped From Streaming, Digimon Just Got a Lot Easier to Watch
Hulu's revolving door of Digimon proves once again that streaming remains the least reliable way to consume media.
The surrounding Digimon are also variations of his friends’ partners, who seemingly use the eggs to evolve into new and powerful creatures. It could be possible that the heroes will encounter a group of Digimon able to transform into these Armor forms without the need for a tamer. Nonetheless, the possibility of the kids learning how to harness each other’s powers cannot be discarded. This might be the next step in their development as DigiDestined and could also serve as a way for the franchise to address the still unresolved Crests storyline.
The Adventure 02 Cast Will Be Key Players
Davis and His Friends Will Not Be Relegated to the Side
Digimon Tri, the movie-exclusive sequel to the Digimon Adventure 02 anime, was a film that a large majority of the fandom did not agree with. Besides the less-than-compelling plot, many viewers had a problem with the lack of screen time Davis and his friends had during the films. This issue became worse once Digimon Adventure 02: The Beginning was released, as its story did little to advance the development of the second generation of DigiDestined.
Digimon Adventure -BEYOND- is a promising break in this trend by having the 02 cast play important roles. The scenes depicting them traveling with new Armor Digimon imply that their signature mode of evolution may be explored further for the first time in decades. This is a cause of excitement for fans of the anime's second season, as they had been waiting years for something like this to occur. This will be a memorable occasion, worthy of one of the best series in the franchise.
