Although all the villagers' homes in Disney Dreamlight Valley are unique to their respective characters, not all of them are as charming as the developers may have hoped. Whether it's entirely immovable or just a giant brightly colored eyesore, the less desirable villagers' homes make decorating the valley a pain for most players.

The Disney Dreamlight Valley expansions have helped resolve this a bit by offering new biome options, making it easier to find the right spot, but this still hasn't fully stopped some players from tucking away the unsightly homes to an unseen corner of the map. Unfortunately, for every character's home that fits anywhere, there's an equally appalling one that seems to fit nowhere.

10 Mother Gothel's Treehouse & Elsa's Cave Are Frustrating Anchors

Not Being Able To Move These Homes Forces Players To Accept Them As Is

Although this is a bit of a two-for-one, the worst villagers' homes by far are those that have no option to relocate. Although the A Rift In Time expansion did add another with Jafar, this mainly applies to Mother Gothel and Elsa in the main valley. When it comes to Mother Gothel's treehouse, it makes sense why it was stationary with it being part of the main story of the game, but not having the option to move it after the fact has been a major bummer for players everywhere.

I'm Obsessed With This New Disney Dreamlight Valley Feature In Storybook Vale

One feature stands out in Disney Dreamlight Valley's second DLC expansion, Storybook Vale as being one of the most fun additions to the game.

Not only is it large, but it is directly in the center of the Glade of Trust, making it awkward to work and design around. Plus, it doesn't have any significance for the character, meaning there's no reason for it. Elsa's cave, on the other hand, does make sense for her character to a degree, but having an ice cave in the middle of the Forest of Valor also creates an awkward space to design around.

9 Wall-E's Truck Is An Unfortunate Choice For Such A Cute Robot

While On Theme, Wall-E's Bright Yellow Truck Lacks The Ability To Be Flexible

This is one of the unfortunate ones where the home makes perfect sense for the character but just doesn't work in the valley. In his film, Wall-E spends a large portion of his time in a truck that he has converted into a cozy little home. Therefore, it makes sense that this was the obvious choice for his home design when it came to placing him in the valley. Unfortunately, that doesn't make it any less annoying to work around.

Disney Dreamlight Valley Star Paths Explained

Disney Dreamlight Valley has regular events called Star Paths that offer limited-time rewards, but what are Star Paths and how do they work?

Since Wall-E takes place in an apocalyptic wasteland version of Earth, the yellow truck doesn't look out of place among all the sand and bright sunlight. However, when placed in a bright green forest, the same can't be said. This means players are left with only a handful of options. They can either get very creative and find a way to make it work or are simply forced to place it in one of the few areas where it doesn't feel completely random, such as The Glittering Dunes or Sunlit Plateau.

8 Vanellope's Candy Dreamhouse Isn't As Sweet As It Sounds

Although Cute & On Theme, A Giant House Made Of Candy Offers Limited Design Options

Had Ralph been added first, players may not have had to deal with Vanellope's large candy house since she likely would've been bunked with him, but since Vanellope was added to Disney Dreamlight Valley first, that isn't the case. Although Vanellope's candy house isn't awful to look at necessarily, it is very bright and specific. For the most part, this means that players are essentially forced to come up with some kind of candy-themed decor around it that makes sense, even if they wouldn't otherwise.

Disney Dreamlight Valley: These Crops In The Storybook Vale Will Make You The Most Money

Seeds for Disney Dreamlight Valley’s regular cash crop, Pumpkins, aren’t available in the Storybook Vale, but two other crops can turn a big profit.

Unfortunately, that only leaves a handful of options, with the most popular being a Hansel and Gretel style placement in the woods or a Candy Cane Forest vibe in the Frosted Heights. While these are great and beautiful designs when executed well, it still doesn't change the fact that players are forced into them, and for those that refuse to be, they simply have to accept a weirdly placed candy home that kind of clashes with Vanellope's character arc in the films anyway.

7 Buzz's RV Makes For A Cozy Camp, But Nothing Else

For Such A Tiny Villager, Buzz's RV Makes A Big Statement

Buzz and Woody are perhaps two of the most beloved Disney characters of all time, but Buzz's home in Disney Dreamlight Valley wouldn't make you think so. Even though Woody's home starts as a fully broken-down carousel, it eventually becomes a beautiful, well-lit, and operational ride that can be worked into a stunning theme park design. On the other hand, Buzz is stuck in a rather dirty-looking RV that doesn't see any improvement throughout the game.

Disney Dreamlight Valley: Every New Seed & Crop Available In The Storybook Vale

Disney Dreamlight Valley’s second expansion , The Storybook Vale, has new seed and crop items for each biome – the Bind, Everafter, and Mythopia.

Although you can make the argument that it works well for a camping theme, that is about the only option it has and the RV itself is not pleasing to look at. Perhaps its only benefit is that it's rather small, so it's easy to place, and the inside is surprisingly well-designed and beautiful. For two famous toys, it seems the pair could have had something that felt a little more representative of that, even if it were a normal house and the interior was themed around Andy's room.

6 Daisy's House Matches Her Perfectly & That's The Problem

Although It Is Bright & Colorful Like Her, Daisy's Home Doesn't Play Well With Others

Since Daisy is unlocked later in Disney Dreamlight Valley and wasn't part of the initial launch with Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Goofy, it makes sense that her home would differ from her companions. However, when Mickey, Minnie, and Goofy all have homes that match a specific design style, it makes it a little frustrating that Daisy can't be placed seamlessly beside them.

The first three Dreamlight Valley updates of 2025 have been teased by Disney, giving fans a glimpse of what's to come in the first half of next year.

This means that not only can Daisy not be grouped with her friends to make her home feel more in sync with the valley, but players are forced to look for another location for this large bright home. Which, unfortunately, is not as easy as it sounds when the colors clash with most of the areas it can be placed in. The only understandable reason for this drastically different design from the others is that perhaps the developers felt it would too closely resemble Minnie's if done in the same style.

5 Anna, Kristoff, & Olaf's Icy Palace Shines

The Ice Palace Is One Of The Few Homes That Stands Out On Its Own

Moving on to the better side of things, although the Ice Palace is one of the most crowded villager houses in Disney Dreamlight Valley, you wouldn't know it. Not only is the interior more spacious than most, but the exterior stands tall without occupying too much design space in the biome. While this home does have some limited placements, not unlike the worst options on this list, it is a bit more versatile and fits seamlessly into the winter biomes without needing any special theme to tie it all together.

Perhaps the best homes in Disney Dreamlight Valley are the ones that require almost no decorating to showcase their beauty and this is one of those options. Unfortunately, the only downside is that Anna's home makes it only more obvious how bad of a choice Elsa's cave is, as this palace gives us a glimpse of what the developers could have offered her as well.

4 Tiana's Bayou Getaway Compliments Her Palace

There's No Denying That Tiana Made A Huge Splash When She ed The Valley

With Tiana, not only did players receive her beautiful home, but they also received her restaurant, Tiana's Palace. While this might not seem important when it comes to her home, it is. The design of Tiana's Palace in Disney Dreamlight Valley and her home is relatively seamless, meaning that deg around the two together is a breeze, since you already have a great foundation to work around and two buildings that pair well in the same area.

Disney Dreamlight Valley's New Shop System Is Nice, But It Comes With A Major Flaw

Disney Dreamlight Valley’s recent Jungle Update changed how the Shop works, and its new convenience is overshadowed by one issue.

Not only that, but both of these buildings are beautiful in their own right. Tiana's Palace can be spotted glittering from the furthest points of the valley, but her quaint home is every bit as stunning. Although it has a rather simplistic design, this only adds to its versatility, allowing it to be placed just about anywhere and fit right in. Furthermore, the inside is beautiful and detailed, as one would expect from such an accomplished princess.

3 Mulan & Mushu's House Is Certainly A Step-Up

The Chinese-Inspired Home Design Beautifully Occupies Any Biome

Given that Mulan & Mushu spent the majority of their film time together on the road or in a military tent, their quaint Chinese-inspired Disney Dreamlight Valley home is a gorgeous place to enjoy some well-earned rest. Although it might seem hard to place at first, the colors are quite simple and complimentary to several biomes.

Disney Dreamlight Valley Fan Reveals Something Very Unsettling That Ended Up Sparking Hilarious Takes

One Disney Dreamlight Valley fan has accidentally stumbled upon something not only terrifying but also something so seamless it almost makes sense.

Players can opt for something bright, like the Meadow, and surround it with beautiful Magnolia trees, or choose something darker, like the Forest of Valor, and create a secluded getaway by the river. The only downside to this home is the inside, which is rather simplistic when compared to something like Tiana's or Anna's, but nonetheless, the design options for this home are endless and perfectly suit the two characters it was designed for.

2 Merida's Home Is Cottage-Core Goals

Blending Seamlessly With The Bind, Merida's Cottage Is A Dreamy Cozy Escape

It's no secret that the Storybook Vale expansion for Disney Dreamlight Valley now holds some of the most beautiful biomes in the entire game. With everything emanating a cozy reader vibe, it's hard not to want to spend all your time there, which is why Merida's home is one of the best in the game. Blending in seamlessly with The Bind, Merida's cottage emits warmth and joy that so many other villagers' homes are lacking.

"Help Me": Man Gets Into Disney Dreamlight Valley For His Wife, Doesn't Expect To Get Sucked Into It

When one man started playing Disney Dreamlight Valley for his wife, he didn't expect to get completely absorbed in it, turning into a "Disney adult."

Not only is it the ideal home to design around, but it's one of the few that feels lived in when you approach it. For the most part, villagers are never home, so it makes sense that their homes would often feel empty, but this one just doesn't somehow. Furthermore, the majority of villagers' homes are simply a building that players have to add foliage to, but Merida's already comes with some, creating a more blended effect, as if it's always been there, no matter where you place it.

1 Belle & The Beast's Castle Is Befitting For A Tale As Old As Time

Belle & The Beast's Castle Is A Landmark In The Valley That Can't Be Missed

Although this home is a bit on the larger side, which might be off-putting for some players, it still feels smaller somehow than other big homes that take up too much room, like Casita. That being said, this home is one you can't simply tuck away out of sight either, nor would you ever want to. Eric's Castle, while also beautiful, is minimized by the fact that Ariel doesn't also reside in it and that it has palm trees built into the design, making it feel out of place anywhere that isn't tropical.

Everything You Need To Know About Disney Dreamlight Valley’s New Floating Islands

Disney Dreamlight Valley's long-awaited Floating Islands are almost here and will completely change the way players decorate their valleys.

Perhaps the only castles that could top Belle & The Beasts at this point would be Aurora's Sleeping Beauty Castle, as showcased in Disneyland, or the true icon of Disney, Cinderella's Castle. Although both princesses are confirmed for the game, it's hard to say whether we'll get such iconic designs for their homes in Disney Dreamlight Valley, especially since one of them is already a skin for players' homes, but we can hope.
