Disney Dreamlight Valley fans have released a heartfelt thanks to developer Gameloft for listening to their regarding Star Paths and making the latest one more accessible. Star Paths are limited-time series of quests that give players a chance to earn unique rewards while the event is underway. During the past few events, Gameloft has been criticized for making its Star Paths too "grindy," but the new Garden of Whimsy path seems to have changed that.

Reddit WrongLander has written a heartfelt thank you letter to the developer, showing their appreciation to the company "for listening to and making this Star Path far less grindy." According to the Redditor, "it genuinely feels like Gameloft has taken community to heart and made some thoughtful changes to improve the overall experience." Fellow of the community have ed in with their thoughts, with most fans agreeing that this Star Path has seen a change for the better.

Disney Dreamlight Valley's Garden Of Whimsy Star Path Is More Approachable For Players

None Of The Quests Should Take Longer Than Two Days

The trouble with past Star Paths was their tendency to stretch out over multiple days, making them extra difficult to complete for players who can't dedicate as much time to the game. Kaitlyn Peterson explains the issue in an op-ed for Screen Rant, writing:

While the initial Star Paths were generally well-received as a fun way to add to the content of the game, the same cannot be said for the most recent ones. …The tasks that are required to earn Star Path tokens and redeem rewards felt unnecessarily punishing.

In essence, instead of being a fun way to interact with the game, Star Paths had started to become a drawn-out, chore-like process that drove some players away due to burnout and frustration.

According to WrongLander, the Garden of Whimsy Star Path made several changes that rendered it more accessible to all players. The key differences between this path and previous ones include:

  • None of the duties requires more than two days to complete.
  • More "nitpicky" duties like mining for specific gems have been made less specific, like mining for blue gems.
  • The Memory Shard collection requirement (which relies a lot on luck in finding the rare items, or foresight in leaving them unopened in the weeks prior to the event) has been halved from 10 to 5

Overall, fans are happy with this event's Star Path, finding it much more approachable and fun than the previous ones. Reddit Lumpy_Flight3088, for instance, writes that they agree with the original poster, stating that "the last two Star Paths were such a chore but this is a huge improvement." Players who haven't yet started the Garden of Whimsy Star Path in Disney Dreamlight Valley still have plenty of time to complete it, as it will run through June 11.
