Per Game Informer, who also shared some stunning illustrations that will be included in the revised rulebooks, the updated Player's Handbook will be released on September 17, 2024, while Dungeon Master's Guide follows on November 12, and the Monster Manual will trail slightly after, dropping on February 18, 2025. Pre-orders for all three books start on June 18 and each one is priced at $49.99. The cover of the new Player's Handbook features some of the most iconic characters from Dungeons & Dragons' massive legacy, sporting the likes of Strongheart the Knight, Yolande the Elven Queen, Molliver, Mercion, and even Elkhorn.

Illustrated by Tyler Jacobson, the covers of each of the new books, especially the Player's Handbook, are meant to pay homage to previous editions of the game while also serving as a fun example of the kinds of adventures players can expect in the game. The reverse cover features a group of unknown adventures riding upon a large bronze dragon, standing in stark contrast to the perilous battle the more iconic heroes find themselves on the front. In this way, Jacobson says that their illustrations help to embody and represent every experience that can be had at the table.
The updated core rulebooks will also sport some unique artwork to celebrate Dungeons & Dragons' landmark birthday as early printings will include a "D&D 50th" seal on the back to mark the momentous year. They'll also all sport a red spine, a design choice that will also apply to all future rulebooks, further harkening back to previous editions. iconic but nonetheless dated creatures.
Dungeons & Dragons continues to grow as one of the most popular tabletop experiences currently available on the market and news that the updated ruleset will soon be available to pre-order will no doubt be music to fans' ears. The game has been teasing some significant updates but in of mechanical reworks, players will just have to wait and see what lies in store. Wizards of the Coast will likely share even more information on the books in the coming months to further build up hype for their release, so expect even more updates in the near future.
