Streamer Dr Disrespect is building out a new video game studio to make dream games for "mega influencers." It seems as though this studio is still in its infancy, as it's hiring for key roles like a studio head. The developer's formation is no less a substantial development for the growing industry of gaming personalities, who are now aiming to make games of their own.

In 2020, Dr Disrespect was banned from Twitch, but that evidently hasn't slowed him down. The streamer was allegedly banned amid contract negotiations with Twitch, which led to his banishment from the platform. Since then, he has moved his streams to other platforms like YouTube and regained several noteworthy sponsors. Now, Dr Disrespect's next move might be one of the biggest an independent game streamer could aim for.

Announced on Tuesday, Dr Disrespect's critiques of Apex Legends and other games that he streams, while harsh, seem to draw on his experience from working at a AAA studio as a strength. His own fledgling game development house is looking to create games in a unique way, as these projects will revolve around collaborations with "mega influencers" according to a new job opening for a studio head. The listing reads:

"The studio plans to forge a partnership with a select list of mega influencers and then work closely with them to launch their dream gaming title. Those gaming titles will either be incubated and developed OR partner/co develop with existing indie game developers and launched as mega titles."

Given the studio head position is not filled by Dr Disrespect himself, it's unclear just how hands-on his role will be at the developer. His intimate player knowledge of popular games like Call of Duty: Mobile and Warzone and industry experience might make it easier for him to integrate into game development than it could be for other streamers with his audience size. Dr Disrespect is expected to continue his streaming career, though, so his role could prove to be more superficial or part-time.

Still, one would have to imagine Dr Disrespect will be giving plenty on whatever games are being developed at the company given his outspoken opinions on other developers' popular titles. If the Doc wants to compete with those major AA and AAA games, he and his team will need equal parts marketing and developer talent. Since Dr Disrespect is looking to collaborate with other influencers to create dream games, this could ultimately prove to be a unique experience for those involved, but it will likely be a while before anything solid materializes from the new partnership.
