Long after the end of Heroes, Zachary Quinto is officially returning to NBC to star in the new show Dr. Wolf. Quinto first came into national prominence with his roles in 24 and Heroes in the early 2000s. Having played Sylar in the popular superhero show, Quinto starred in dozens of episodes, and he has since gone on to take prominent roles in Star Trek, American Horror Story, and Invincible.

Quinto is ready to return from NBC to feature in a show of his own. The Hollywood Reporter is revealing that Quinto will be starring in NBC's Dr. Wolf. The show will follow the life and works of Quinto's Oliver Sacks, a real neurologist who published multiple groundbreaking books about neurology, including The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat and The Island of the Colorblind. The eventual release date is not currently known, as the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike means that production cannot begin for an indeterminable amount of time.

Quinto's Long-Awaited Return To NBC

Zachary Quinto as Sylar in Heroes

Quinto's time as Sylar left him as the main antagonist of much of Heroes' run, and his adventures are thrilling. He takes numerous powers, horrifies the actual heroes, and is still somehow a relatively complex character with interesting motivations. Quinto's experience with the show helped him become the well-known actor that he is today, so it's no surprise that he is returning to the world of NBC TV.

After the abrupt cancellation of Heroes, Quinto has taken numerous roles both in TV and in movies. Quinto isn't the only one to enjoy further success past the superhero show, with Adrian Pasdar starring in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Ali Larter continuing the success she had prior to the show, and Milo Ventimiglia with such titles as This Is Us, which net him three Primetime Emmy Award nominations. Quinto's return is a sign that the Heroes legacy remains strong at NBC, though chances of another revival are low following Reborn's failure.

For Quinto, Dr. Wolf represents a commitment to working with NBC on a drama show once again. Dr. Wolf has been in development since 2018 and is set to go into production once the SAG-AFTRA strike ends. In addition to reuniting with the Heroes network, Quinto will be reuniting with American Horror Story co-star Teddy Sears, who played his partner Patrick in Murder House, with the rest of the cast including with Tamberla Perry (They Cloned Tyrone), Aury Krebs (Leverage: Redemption), Ashleigh LaThrop (The Handmaid's Tale), Spence Moore II (Creed III), and Alexander MacNicoll (The 5th Wave). Heroes may be over, but Quinto's role in Dr. Wolf is still a rewarding sight.
