The introduction of the Super Saiyan 4 transformation into the Dragon Ball Daima anime has been one of the most beloved surprises the franchise has given fans in several years. Seeing Goku achieve this fan-favorite form after decades without any signs of it becoming canon. Since its revelation in episode #18, fans cannot stop talking about their excitement.
Yet, by making this iconic form official, the franchise has also accepted one of the most divisive traits of Super Saiyan 4’s lore: the magic clothing changes its s go through. While this might seem like a new issue for the franchise, Daima has an opportunity to explain this much better than GT ever did.
Daima Made Super Saiyan 4 Magic Clothe Changes Canon
Fans Wonder Why This Trait Was Not Corrected
Super Saiyan 4 is undoubtedly one of the best and most iconic transformations in the Dragon Ball franchise. While not all fans love GT, the series from which the form originated, this technique is widely regarded as one of the most powerful and epic additions from the era. Although the form is cherished by almost all fans, it does have traits that have caused it to be criticized over the years. For example, fans have noticed that whenever a character accessed this form, their clothes would magically disappear, only to reform after the form was no longer in use.

Super Saiyan 4 Is Now Canon, And Dragon Ball Needs to Do the Same for Goku's Best Attack
Dragon Ball Daima episode #18 shocked the world by making Super Saiyan 4 Goku canon, and now Goku's greatest attack needs to become canon, as well.
When Goku unlocked the transformation in episode #18 of the Dragon Ball Daima anime, this divisive decision was made once again. Instead of his iconic orange Gi, which he was already using during the battle against Gomah, Kakarot’s clothes become reminiscent of his GT outfit. Moreover, the top of his garments vanishes completely, as if it had never existed. After Goku is forced to exit the transformation, his clothes magically return to normal without an explanation. While this does not affect the story of the anime in any way, fans have been calling it out on social media.
Daima Could Attribute This To Actual Magic
Super Saiyan 4 Was Hinted at Being Linked To Demonic Magic
One of the main reasons why the magic change in outfit was heavily criticized during GT’s era was because it did not make any sense for it to occur. Until that point in the franchise, none of the many other transformations had done anything similar, no matter how powerful they might have been. Unlike GT, Daima does have a reasonable and lore-accurate explanation as to why Goku’s clothes changed when using the Super Saiyan 4 form.
The transformation was only unlocked after Neva, a Namekian native to the Demon Realm and a of Daima's most important power, magic, used his abilities to give Kakarot a boost in power. Due to this, the series heavily implied that the only reason why the protagonist can use the technique is thanks to the Demon Realm’s magic. If this is indeed the case, then the sudden change in clothes can be explained as a side effect of magic being used to help him achieve the form.
Dragon Ball Daima is nearing its end, and fans cannot wait to know what new revelations the series has in store for them. If these surprises are equally well-handled as Super Saiyan 4, there is no doubt that viewers will love the final episode of this epic adventure.
