characters still missing from Sparking! Zero. Most of these appeared in previous Budokai Tenkaichi releases, or played prominent roles in the anime, but have yet to be transferred over into the most recent game.
Many of these will be added in periodic DLC releases over the coming months. This is pretty standard fare for fighting games, which typically release new characters on a rolling basis to keep the game interesting and player counts high. For anyone who's already purchased, or is considering picking up, the Sparking! Zero season , here's what to expect.
Glorio & Vegeta Sparking! Zero
Dragon Ball DAIMA In Sparking! Zero
The second DLC update for Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero will incldue two new characters: Glorio and Vegeta (mini), as they appear in the series Dragon Ball DAIMA. They fellow cast member Goku (Mini), who was released as a pre-order bonus for Sparking! Zero. In this spinoff series, created in close collaboration with late franchise creator Akira Toriyama, Gomah uses the Dragon Balls to turn Goku and his allies into children (hence Vegeta's mini form here), hoping to prevent them from becoming a threat to the Demon World. Glorio also plays a major role in the anime, as a demon set apart from Gomah's machinations. Dragon Ball DAIMA represents his debut; he's completely original to the anime.
This follows the addition of Gamma 1 and Gamma 2 from Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, who will be contained in the first DLC pack. Characters for the third and final part of the season also look to be drawn from Dragon Ball DAIMA, as the series logo appears in the "To be revealed" slot for the third DLC. Each DLC pack is also said to come with "more" than the two characters that have already been revealed for each, but this likely means new stages or alternate costumes instead of additional characters.
When Will Season DLC 2 Release?
Sparking! Zero's DLC Roap
Unfortunately, there's no concrete release date for any of Sparking! Zero's character DLC at the time of writing. However, all three DLC packs are expected to be released during the first half of 2025, with the first and second coming out during the first quarter of the year, and the third in the second quarter.
How To Raise Character Proficiency In Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero
Character Proficiency is a measurement in Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero of how much a character has been used in the game.
Further information, including release dates and the identity of the characters in the third DLC pack, will likely be revealed over the next few months. There may yet be further expansions to the roster if Sparking! Zero proves to have enduring popularity. For now, players have 181 characters to experiment with n Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero's base roster, with more expansions coming soon.
