different paths to take in its main mode, Episode Battle. While many of the stories have clear routes, some of them aren't as obvious, such as how to resist Babidi's brainwashing. During Episode Battles, along with winning any individual battle, there are a host of other conditions and objectives to be completed to progress the story. This determines which storyline you take, or can influence decisions further through your playthrough.

Dragon Ball Sparking Zero provides a completely different option for fighting game fans and one with much more story-based combat than traditional titles in the genre. The game provides incredible graphics, taking fans of the series straight back into the anime title, but the gameplay itself provides a steep learning curve, especially for those new to the series. There is a massive amount of content hidden within the game, including over 180 different character options. However, most of these hidden characters need to be unlocked through the various modes, providing plenty of playback.

How To Avoid Babidi's Brainwashing In Dragon Ball Sparking Zero

Tracking Back To Open Up A New Story

Dragon Ball Sparking Zero Objectives list

The majority of battles in the Episode Battle mode are stories taken from the series itself, but many allow you to change the course of these through your choices and actions. One of the battles that brings an alternative ending sees you face off with Vegata against Babidi in Vegeta's Wicked Heart mission. While you don't actually battle him in this episode, the traditional story sees you brainwashed and if you don't go out of your way, this will automatically happen. However, eagle-eyed players will see there is another option to shake off brainwashing on the wheel.

In total, there are 21 different sagas that can be played out in Episode Battle with eight of the characters from the series. Vegata has two different ones, but the showdown with Babidi takes place in Vegeta Buu Saga.

Alongside the objectives in any battle, there are also alternate objectives, some of which are shown more than others. To be able to shake off brainwashing, you need to go back and complete one of these on a previously played episode. You need to return to Preparation for the World Tournament. In this fight, you face off against Trunks in a training match, with the objective being to complete the battle while taking minimal damage.

To unlock the alternative option, you must be playing on at least the default difficulty level, Normal. If you are playing on the Weak difficulty, alternative objectives will not be available to be completed.

While no specific amount of damage will count for this, if you can dominate the battle and avoid taking many hits you will be able to complete the objective. To try and avoid taking damage against Trunks, your best bet is to attack from a distance. Once you have done so much damage, Vegeta will stop the training match, leading to a further cut scene between the two. Vegeta is one of the strongest fighters in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero, once you have spent time practicing with him.

After completing the objective, return to the Vegeta's Wicked Heart mission. The opening cut scene will play again, but this time when you see the circle option wheel you will be able to click 'Shake off the brainwashing'. This will create a new dramatic cut scene, as Vegeta overcomes Babidi's powers before a greater enemy is sent into battle.
