Warning! Spoilers ahead for Dragon Ball Super chapter 79!

Aside from the surprising fact that both Gas of the Heeter Force and Granolah the Cerealian somehow mastered Instant Transmission, the move seems to be the key to who wins the ongoing battle in Dragon Ball Super.

Both fighters are ostensibly the two most powerful warriors in the universe thanks to planet Cereal's eternal dragon Toronbo who granted both of their wishes to reach such incredible heights. But since Toronbo was asked to make Gas the strongest after Granolah, Gas is stronger than his Cerealian opponent. But that doesn't necessarily mean that Gas will win. As Vegeta notices in chapter 79, Gas' utilization of Instant Transmission is much sloppier than Granolah's since the Cerealian has had more time to test out his new power.  Vegeta soon comes to the unexpected conclusion that because Granolah wields Instant Transmission more accurately that he actually has a chance at defeating Gas despite being weaker.

This is putting a lot of faith on one move, and it's especially shocking that Vegeta actually shares this realization out loud. Earlier on during the Galactic Patrol Prisoner Saga, Vegeta went out of his way to refer to Instant Teleportation as a cheap parlor trick. Vegeta has grown quite considerably in Dragon Ball Super, most notably when he sought help from the Yardrats in the first place and later gave Granolah his only Senzu Bean so the Cerealian could enact his revenge instead of finally suring Goku himself. But he's actually acknowledging the strength of a move that he considers beneath him. This means that Vegeta's perception of power is changing, and his pride getting in the way of him using Instant Teleportation regardless of this just serves as further proof that he is willing to sabotage his own goals for the sake of his Saiyan pride.

Vegeta isn't just making some wild unsubstantiated statements either. For the majority of the fight, Gas and Granolah seemed to be on even ground despite Gas' sudden boost in power. It wasn't until Gas released an incredible burst of energy, thrusting Granolah onto his back that it became clearly evident that Gas had actually not been utilizing his true power. Gas wanted to defeat Granolah naturally without having to resort to a wish he didn't even want. Yet, even after this amazing display of power, Granolah is still able to not only survive against his stronger opponent but land consecutive punches, proving just how capable Instant Teleportation is because it's the sole technique that both fighters wield from that moment onward.

Regardless, this is a refreshing change of pace, especially if the battle continues to unfold as such, since the vast majority of battles throughout the franchise, especially in Dragon Ball Super, have relied solely on incredible bouts of strength or super moves of extraordinary proportions. The fact that a "parlor trick" like Instant Transmission is the key to winning an all-out brawl against Gas is intriguing and hopefully will be the first of many more unexpected developments to come.
