When asked which of his projects he was most proud of, Twin PeaksMulholland Drive, and Blue Velvet. While Dune is a cult classic to some, Lynch's adaptation of the classic sci-fi novel by Frank Herbert has faced a lot of issues, both behind the scenes and with the film's reception.

In an interview with David Lynch Theater on YouTube, a fan questions Lynch about the project that he's most proud of making. Lynch has always been outspoken about his disappointment in Dune and how he didn't have much say in the final cut, calling the movie a failure. This time is no different, with Lynch resolutely saying that he's "proud of everything, except Dune."

Over 35 years after Dune's release, a reboot is on its way, directed by no interest in the film, due to his own difficult history with the material.

The Dune reboot stars Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Zendaya, Oscar Isaac, and many others, and will not be undergo some reshoots this August. Dune currently has a release date of December 18, 2020.
