E3 2021 has ed with no new footage for Starfield, isn't coming out until late 2022, so there's still going to be quite a wait for The Elder Scrolls 6. It will be a decade later this year that The Elder Scrolls received its last entry, Skyrim, and fans are constantly speculating on the series' next location. The first game in the franchise, The Elder Scrolls: Arena, introduced the continent of Tamriel, and the series has since taken place in the different regions of the fictional world.

The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall took place partly in Hammerfell, a province on the western coast of Tamriel. Daggerfall was primarily focused on the Iliac Bay, however, which extends to the neighboring region of High Rock as well, where the eponymous city of Daggerfall is located. With Morrowind, Cyrodiil, and Skyrim being the latter three games' settings, the majority of Hammerfell has never been explored, even though the province is ripe for an Elder Scrolls game.

There's still been no specific details regarding The Elder Scrolls 6 aside from the fact that it is confirmed to be in development. Bethesda may have snuck a clue to TES6's location into the recent Starfield trailer, though - an etching on the side of a spacecraft console that looks eerily similar to a map of Hammerfell and High Rock.

Hammerfell, The Elder Scrolls' Home of the Redguards

Vast swathes of Hammerfell are desolate, yet that doesn't stop the hardy Redguards from inhabiting the region. Redguards are famous throughout Tamriel for their fighting ability, owing to the fact that they conquered the region of Hammerfell by force in Elder Scrolls lore. Redguards had to flee their native island home of Yokuda when it sank into the sea for unknown reasons. Before the Redguards, Hammerfell was primarily occupied by the Dwemer, a race that disappeared in another one of The Elder Scrolls' great mysteries.

Much of Hammerfell is covered by the Alik'r Desert, a seemingly endless stretch of arid landscape. Despite the harsh conditions, the Redguards have managed to flourish like the Dwemer before them. What isn't desert in Hammerfell is rugged mountain ranges, grasslands, or forests, mainly along its coasts and borders. There are also many major cities in Hammerfell, most of which also avoid the interior desert regions. Much like the Nords of Skyrim, Hammerfell has a unique religion, borne out of that from the Redguards' time on Yokuda.

All of these regional features will likely play a part in the story of Elder Scrolls 6, which is a top priority at Bethesda along with Starfield. Fans are already eager to get their hands on The Elder Scrolls VI, but it will take time for the massive new world to be created, especially with Bethesda simultaneously working on other projects.
