The new, year-long Dark Heart of Skyrim event has begun in Greymoor DLC and carry on throughout the year with two additional DLC add-ons for the hugely popular MMORPG.
Much like Elsweyr's Season of the Dragon event, Dark Heart of Skyrim will add new items, emotes, rewards, and more, as players quest to explore even more of the most beloved region of Tamriel before diving into the dark events of the Greymoor chapter later this year. Along with battling new vampire enemies, players can look forward to experiencing a sprawling narrative that will reveal many dark secrets previously untold in the land of the Nords.
Available now for Mac and PC players, the Harrowstorm DLC pack adds two new four-player dungeons for players to explore, Unhallowed Grave and Icereach. In Unhallowed Grave, players must enter a long-forgotten tomb in a Bangkorai burial site, which has been invaded by raiders and grave robbers called Draugrkin, to uncover the reason behind their intrusion and to put a stop to their unsavory plans. Icereach, on the other hand, will have players confronting an island of towering monsters as they set out to defeat a coven of deadly witches who have unleashed a powerful supernatural storm on the northern coast of Skyrim.
The latest update also adds some improvements to The Elder Scrolls Online, such as improved load times and framerates for the base version of the game. This update also overhauls the way that the game is ed, patched, and stored on player's hard drives, resulting in a severely reduced footprint. Unfortunately, this also means that all players will need to re- the game client, but all players who reinstall The Elder Scrolls Online will receive a Crimson Torchbug pet for their troubles.
Hopefully, these updates for The Elder Scrolls Online, along with spin-off titles like The Elder Scrolls VI. There seems to be no shortage of excitement or exploration on the way, and fans of the core series would be remiss to skip over the truly fantastic offerings available in The Elder Scrolls Online.
The Harrowstorm DLC is available now on PC and Mac and will be available to console players on March 10th. Greymoor, the next major expansion for The Elder Scrolls Online, will release on PC and Mac on May 18th, and on June 2nd for players on Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
