The latest The Elder Scrolls Online DLC is offering players the chance to hone their skills with one of the game's unique weapons. The Harrowstorm DLC features a dungeon that encourages and rewards players for using the grappling hook to explore and fight.

Harrowstorm is part of The Elder Scrolls Online's Dark Heart of The Elder Scrolls Online Greymoor expansion coming this summer. Harrowstorm adds to The Elder Scrolls Online's expansive world through the arrival of two new dungeons, the Unhallowed Grave and Icereach.

The grappling hook features heavily in the Unhallowed Grave dungeon, GamesRadar reports. The developers want to give players an area that rewards them for exploring every nook and cranny, and the best way to do that is to highlight the grappling hook. This unique mode of traversal allows players to swing and climb through the dungeon and offers a unique fighting method against the enemies within. The Unhallowed Grave has been specifically designed so players can make the most of using the hook to reach new areas and have an advantage in boss fights. According to dungeon lead Mike Finnigan, the grapple hook is "fully integrated within the dungeon in how you travel, battle its bosses, and even discover its secrets."

Elder Scrolls Online Greymoor

Harrowstorm is the first part of the larger Greymoor The Elder Scrolls Online is stored in player computers, and drastically reduce the amount of space the game takes up. These quality of life improvements will really help players get the most out of Harrowstorm and the coming DLC before Greymoor fully debuts.

The Elder Scrolls Online is already an incredibly expansive universe, and to add more to it is an impressive feat. Harrowstorm is the first of many DLCs this year, and clearly the developers want to assure players they can continue to add more unique experiences to the game. The grappling hook is a fairly new addition, and has been underutilized up until now. By creating a dungeon that specifically uses the grappling hook for travel and battles, The Elder Scrolls Online gives players a new perspective on using the weapon and on the world of Skyrim as a whole. Players will get used to using the grappling hook, which will then encourage them to use it in other areas as well. They would be wise to do so, because such skills could possibly come in handy in another dungeon later on in the Greymoor expansion.
