One of my personal favorite things to do with music is search for songs or artists that I normally wouldn't stumble across. Sometimes, it can be fun to scroll through the Top 50 songs worldwide on Spotify and see what comes up. That's how I fell into a rabbit hole two years ago of discovering artists that hail from Sweden and have never looked back. There are so many talented artists presenting their own unique sound that are so much fun to discover and listen to.
These Swedish artists are making waves in the music industry, and they deserve to be highlighted. Whether you speak the language or not, these discographies are sophisticated and well-produced, and you may find yourself singing along after just a few listens. I love to expand my own music library, and I hope that these artists are just what you are looking for to get a taste of something new.
10 Adam Ulanicki
Pop
The name Adam Ulanicki might sound familiar to you if you were on TikTok in 2021. His version of "Some Say" by fellow Swedish singer Nea went viral for the unique way he decided to produce it. The track features his vocals before and after his transition, creating a haunting duet with himself.
He was worried about how his hormone replacement therapy might affect his singing voice and the emotions he would be able to convey through his art. However, he stated on his Spotify that he is learning to love his new voice while also holding space for the one from the past.
Adam Ulanicki's music is the perfect blend of pop and indie. Though he has only released singles and EPs since 2021, every song carries a certain care and energy that makes you want to sink onto the couch and just take it all in. His harmonic vocals combine perfectly with the curated beats backing him.
While "Some Say" is definitely his big standout song, I highly recommend checking out "Rumors" and "Beating Me Blue", which were both released last year. Ulanicki is very confident in his sound, and he can only grow from here. He is one to watch in the next few years to see what else he accomplishes.
9 Dizzy
Rap
Even though he is a young newcomer on the scene, Dizzy has already proven his prowess in the rap music industry. He has made Sweden's top 50 list with 20 songs and has also charted in Finland and Norway. With his energetic rap style and deep, piercing vocals, his songs are a fresh take on the wide expanse of the rap genre.

9 Times Bands & Artists Dipped Into A Completely Different Genre & Completely Succeeded
Sometimes, an artist will venture outside their typical sound and test out an entirely different genre that is completely new to them and their fans.
Some highlight songs of Dizzy's are "PRAPAPA," which uses trumpets to compliment the drumbeat at the forefront of the melody. Other songs like "Hanterar" show off Dizzy's ability to switch seamlessly from rapping to singing and back again. His songs all have a certain build right before dropping you into the chorus.
8 Junie
Pop
If you're looking for some feel-good pop to play with the sunroof open or while getting ready for a night out with your friends, look no further than Junie. Her melodic voice fits so well with the guitars and beats that back her up. She has curated a specific pop sound since she began releasing music in 2020. Her vibe feels very pop princess, and her songs would feel right at home next to Charli XCX or Olivia Rodrigo.
Her emotions are raw and on full display in her music and her vocals.
Her discography is full of top-tier girl pop anthems. "Ser du hur bra jag mår" is a great song to dance to whenever you need to feel a little more free. "Vi" is perfect to listen to if you're feeling a longing for the one that got away. Her emotions are raw and on full display in her music and her vocals. Her collaboration with fellow Swedish artist Hanna Ferm, "Välkommen Åter," is a master class in songwriting and solid vocals.
7 Veronica Maggio
Pop
With her edgy style and eclectic sound, it's no wonder Veronica Maggio has been a staple on the Swedish music charts for years. Her high and creativity allow her to create memorable tracks. She's been active in the industry as a solo artist since 2006, when she released her debut album, for which she also earned a Grammi, the Swedish equivalent of the Grammy Awards presented in the United States. Over 20 of her songs have become top 20 hits in Sweden.
Veronica Maggio is also credited as a songwriter on fellow Swedish artist Avicii's hit song "Hey Brother."
As for Veronica Maggio's standout songs, the number one hit "Jag kommer" reached the top of the charts for good reason. It's catchy with a chorus that's easy to sing along to, no matter what language you speak. Released in April 2025, her latest single, "Inte bra i grupp," shows off a grittier and more punk edge to her music, branching out from the pop sound that she started her career with. It seems like she has no intention of slowing down, and if this latest single is any indication of what is to come, we should all be paying attention.
6 Henric Edström
Rap
Since he started releasing music in 2019, Henric Edström has proven that he is a force to be reckoned with. His lightning-fast delivery is what makes his songs entertaining and fun to listen to. Though he is a relatively new artist, his beats and lyrics are innovative and feel like a fresh take on the rap genre. Songs like "Zack & Cody" even use some strings in the background, adding another layer to the drum beats he most often utilizes.
"Hot Girls (dricker hotshots)" is Henric Edström's second-most streamed song on Spotify, and the one that I it gets stuck in my head often. Other standouts include his most recent collaboration with JULI, "Var & När," and tracks off of his second album, like "Peer Gynt" and "BeReal." If you're looking to add something new to your rap playlists, there is sure to be a track by Henric Edström that will fit perfectly.
5 Oscar Enestad
Pop
Oscar Enestad started his music career as a member of the Swedish boy band FO&O. After the band split in 2018 to pursue their own projects, Oscar Enestad released his first single, "Heaven on My Skin," that same year. After three singles in English, he began to release music in Swedish. His first full album, released in 2022, is also completely in Swedish. No matter what language he is singing in, Oscar Enestad's voice is perfectly harmonic. His sound is this thoughtful melody reminiscent of Troye Sivan or Greyson Chance.
Fellow former FO&O member Omar Rudberg has not only released solo music of his own, but has also starred as one of the main characters in the Netflix show Young Royals.
Oscar Enestad's 2019 single "I Love It" is the perfect dance party hit. It uses its electronic influences perfectly without over-saturating the melodic vocals that Enestad provides. The standout single from his debut album has to be "Du är allt jag vill ha." Though he hasn't released anything new since his album in 2022, I really hope that we get to see more from this talented young artist in the future.
4 Junior Brielle
Indie Pop
Made of two brothers, David and Gabriel Rödhin, Junior Brielle has been releasing music since 2017. They have two full-length albums, released in 2019 and 2023. Their newest single, "Debut," released earlier this year, is the culmination of finding their sound throughout the years. The duo has a fresh indie vibe, taking electronic elements and blending them with harmonic pop vocals. Their album TAMPA might only consist of nine songs, but each one shows off their musical prowess.

10 Japanese Metal Bands You Need To Listen To Right Now
If you're looking to discover something new in the metal genre, these Japanese rock bands are perfect to add to your next metal playlist.
The best place to start is with their debut. "Någon tönt" and "Panik" off of their first album provide a lighter sound, almost like a dreamscape. Songs like "Våran första sommar" are perfect examples of using a synth beat to draw their listeners in. Moving to their sophomore album, songs like "Robert Johnson" take more inspiration from indie sounds, with stronger instruments and a more crisp vocal sound. Though their sound seems to be evolving, everything is quintessential Junior Brielle.
3 Hov1
Hip-Hop
After 10 years of releasing music and touring, the group Hov1 (pronounced Hovet) announced in 2025 that they would be disbanding. Though this is sad news to fans, we still have the last 10 years of their music to continue to listen to and enjoy as they embark on their final tour. Their sound is a mix of hip-hop and pop, which creates a blend that is all Hov1.
Their sound evolves seamlessly throughout their body of work, and they are sure to have something for everyone.
The group's latest release from March 2025, "Räddare i nöden," masterfully utilizes the melody of "Everytime We Touch" by Cascada, who also interpolated the chorus from a Maggie Reilly song of the same name. "Banksy," named after the famous anonymous artist, is a classic hip-hop inspired track from their 2021 album. Their sound evolves seamlessly throughout their body of work, and they are sure to have something for everyone.
2 ADAAM
Hip-Hop
Beginning his music career at the age of 15, ADAAM is an artist who specializes in collaborations. Since the release of his first single in 2018, he has amassed over 300 million streams on Spotify. His debut solo album, TOPBOY establishes his sound and shows off his control over his vocals. His next two albums feature collaborations with other artists, and those make up the majority of his most popular songs on Spotify. These achievements are something for this young artist to be proud of.
As we keep an eye on ADAAM's next steps, his latest collaboration with Greekazo and ROMANOS, "Håller Mig Själv," could give us some hints as to what he will be up to in the future. As for some solo tracks, his song "FRESH" from his 2023 album deserves a spotlight. With his mix of lyricism and music production, we know that he will be one to watch as he continues to work with fellow artists on masterful collaborations.
1 Bolaget
Pop
Though they have never released a formal full-length album, that hasn't stopped Bolaget from releasing incredibly popular singles throughout their career. The band, whose name means "The Company," was formed in 2019. They had a song already written and ready to go, and just needed a name to seal the deal. They have reached the number one spot on the Swedish charts three times and have released a single as recently as April 2025 with Swedish ska-punk band HOFFMAESTRO.
Not only does Bolaget feature strong vocals, but their instruments are what really make their songs earworms. The trumpets featured on their song "Dum" are what gets stuck in your head. Their most streamed song on Spotify, "Kan Inte Gå," is how I was introduced to their strong vocals, catchy choruses, and ability to hook an audience right from the start. "Alla Ska Dö" is another perfect example of their vocals blending perfectly together. If they ever decide to release a full album, it will certainly be worth the wait.
