Fallout 4 is known for having plenty of factions vying for control of the irradiated ruins of the Commonwealth and while one of them may feel relatively useless, a new mod makes them significantly more effective at taking control. Waking up as the Sole Survivor of Vault 111 feels especially intimidating when the entire world has gone to ruin but one group of fighters, The Minutemen, is simply looking to make a difference and help their fellow Americans. Unfortunately, their aspirations are slightly out of their reach given that the player needs to accomplish everything for them.

That's why Nexus Mods Glitchfinder shared the "You And What Army 2" mod which takes the Minutemen and makes them an actual force to be reckoned with. The add-on makes some essential tweaks to the faction, allowing players to build up their forces over the course of Fallout 4's story, turning them into the real defenders of the Commonwealth. Perhaps the biggest addition are thirty new locations dedicated to the Minutemen that help solidify their presence, alongside several roving patrols that assist in safeguarding the settlers and residents of the Sole Survivor's territory.

The Minutemen Are Great In Theory...

They Just Can't Function By Themselves

The inclusion of the "You And What Army 2" mod should make dealing with the Minutemen significantly more pleasant given their reputation amongst the Fallout 4 community. Tossing in with Preston Garvey and his militia seems like a great idea until the leader continually badgers the Sole Survivor to complete trivial challenges to ensure the safety of the Commonwealth's citizens. Given their reputation as a fight force, their inability to solve many of the problems presented to the player is frustrating, especially over long periods of time.

Having a more powerful force behind them should hopefully make the Minutemen's presence in Fallout 4 feel more substantial and their reputation as a major faction warranted. While it's a pity that the lower-ranking soldiers can't be ordered to complete certain missions, it's nonetheless good to know that outposts and settlements will be better protected against the horrors of the Wasteland. Not only is it peace of mind for player who don't want to deal with Preston's constant badgering, it's rewarding to see the troops slowly build up over the course of the group's lengthy questline.

The Minutemen are one of several factions players can side with in Fallout 4. The others include The Railroad, The Institute, and The Brotherhood of Steel.

Fallout 4 may not be the most recent entry in Bethesda's beloved series of role-playing games but it's widely regarded as the studio's best attempt at bringing the bizarre world of nuclear devastation to life. Despite being nearly a decade old, the game has recently seen next-gen upgrade" for the game to further improve the experience on modern consoles.
