A fan-made concept trailer for the MCU's Ghost Rider shows what Jensen Ackles would look like as the Spirit of Vengeance. After Nicolas Cage's two live-action appearances in 2007's Ghost Rider movie and its 2011 sequel, Ghost Rider only appeared in Agents of SHIELD, this time embodied by Gabriel Luna's Robbie Reyes instead of Johnny Blaze. But since Agents of SHIELD hasn't been fully integrated into the MCU's main timeline, the Avengers' home universe doesn't have its own Ghost Rider variant yet.

In Marvel's epic history, nothing can compare to the best Ghost Rider comics and stories, throwing its demonic, flaming, leather-wearing avengers into unholy adventures. But with multiple relaunches, several different versions of Ghost Rider, and multiple acclaimed creative teams, it's hard to know which stories to read first.

The Spirit of Vengeance, best known as Ghost Rider, has arguably one of the coolest designs out of any Marvel Comics hero. The image of a skull completely surrounded by flames has grown to be absolutely iconic as he uses his abilities to send sinners to Hell in exchange for saving his father's life. However, his bike has gained a reputation among fans as well. The Hell Cycle is as inseparable from Ghost Rider's identity as his flaming skull is. It's the perfect way to capture the style of a biker from Hell, but now Ghost Rider has ditched his beloved bike for something a bit more improvised.

Marvel's Ghost Rider is often seen as a nigh-unkillable, cosmically powerful hero, but in Age of X: Universethe underappreciated mutant Chamber is able to slaughter him in one hit, proving how the X-Men underutilize one of their most powerful players.

The Avenger's lineup is usually open to superheroes of all types, including the likes of the brutal Ghost Rider, which challenged the anti-hero to adapt to a very different context from that of his usual supernatural or horror-tinged adventures. The welcoming environment of the Avengers allows for both new and old heroes to grow into their own and get a chance to practice going up against villains they might otherwise never fight. Robbie Reyes was presented with the opportunity to develop his powers and his life as the new Ghost Rider, and so far his time with the Avengers has proved very beneficial.

Ghost Rider is perhaps the most powerful earthbound antihero in the entire Marvel Comics catalog regardless of the demon’s host, though that isn’t to say merging with an inherently powerful host isn’t beneficial, as the Spirit of Vengeance’s ultimate form was made possible by DC’s Flash.

Danny Ketch, the brother of the original Ghost Rider, Johnny Blaze, has been blazing a path of his own at Marvel ever since first being introduced in 1990. After which, he served as the Ghost Rider for nearly a decade. Now, he's back in the current run of Ghost Rider comics, just in time for a new arc. As Johnny and exiled FBI agent Talia Warroad trek through the country after sending Blackheart back to hell, Danny Ketch returns in Ghost Rider#12 seemingly with his Ghost Rider powers back, along with his recently introduced Spirit of Corruption powers and sword.

The Spirit of Vengeance has either taken over or in some way influenced a number of people throughout Marvel Comics history, which results in them becoming their own unique versions of Ghost Rider, and out of all of them, one stands above the rest as the absolute coolest–something proven true in one piece of epic cosplay.
