Nicholas Cage does a solid job playing a self-destructive Johnny Storm who gets mixed up in things he doesn't understand. The action scenes are fun, the story is emotional, and it stands up as a solid early entry for the comic book movie genre. It's no The Batman or Avengers: Endgame, but it is a lot of fun.

Used to be scared of this movie when it came out, because of one jumpscare that really got me. Don't think this is that great of a movie overall and could have been more exciting but Nicolas Cage makes it watchable. I love his commitment to the camp in a good portion of his role. He really is an excellent actor.

Nicholas Cage really is the sole saving grace of this movie, which while largely faithful to it's source material and not lacking in cool imagery, is just a dull and forgetful experience. The ing cast doesn't leave a good impression, nor does its villains, and the action is a fine I'm the moment, but lacking the punch to be memorable.
