Tepig is one of the Pokemon needed to complete the Unova Collection in Pokemon Go. This guide will show players how to increase their chances of finding one. Pokemon Go will be hosting a slew of collection events throughout the rest of the year. This is the 25th anniversary of the Pokemon series and it makes sense for the developers to want to celebrate every aspect of the franchise. The first collection challenge for 2021 requires players to catch 9 specific Pokemon from the Unova region. These include all of the starters and a handful of rarer Pokemon to encounter. This guide will show players how they can find Tepig and complete this challenge.

Tepig, Oshawatt, and Snivy are the starter Pokemon from the fifth-generation gamesPokemon Black and White. This region introduced the largest number of Pokemon to ever hit the roster since the original 151. Players were pushed to create a team of entirely new Pokemon during their playthrough since all of the older generations' Pokemon were only available in the post-game. This allowed players to experiment with brand-new Pokemon and form new memories as they go around the region to collect all the gym badges and aim to be a Pokemon Master. Now, a handful of these Pokemon needs to be collected before this Sunday to unlock a special collection medal. Here's how players can find Tepig in Pokemon Go.

How To Find (& Catch) Tepig in Pokemon Go (Unova Collection)

To locate Tepig, the best thing players could do is activate and Incense while also being near a PokeStop with an active Lure. For 30 minutes to an hour, players will have an increased chance to run into this Pokemon. During the event, the spawn rates of Unova Pokemon have been substantially increased. Although, try to not and wait too long to do this event since the final hours of the event will remove the increased spawn rate. The best thing players can do is remain patient and wait until Tepig spawns. This also only works with capturing the Pokemon. Receiving it from a trade or an egg does not count towards the collection.

From experience, the hour-long Incense caused about 7-12 Tepig to spawn within that time-frame. Not only are trainers able to capture Tepig, but many of the other Pokemon required for the collection challenge. While the reward of Stardust, Pokeballs, and Rare Candy is nice, the real reward is in the form of the collection medal. Get out there and start catching them all.
