Warning! SPOILERS about Fire Country season 3, episode 20 ahead.
How Fire Country season 3, episode 19’s ending fully set up how menacing the fire really was, with the embers reaching Buena Vista foreshadowing the predicaments to come.
A chain of unfortunate events that included Fire Country character.
Luke Leone Needs To Return To Edgewater For Walter & Vince In Fire Country Season 4
Luke Moved To Japan In Fire Country Season 3
Vince’s likely death and Walter being involved in the Buena Vista building roof collapse are good enough reasons for Luke Leone to return. Walter’s second son and Vince’s younger brother, Luke has appeared now and then throughout Fire Country, causing trouble more often than not, but also proving a great help for the Leones, as Luke donated one of his kidneys to Sharon in Fire Country season 1 and helped Bode get into the Cal Fire training after his nephew’s plea in Fire Country season 2’s finale.

Why Stephanie Arcila & Billy Burke Are Exiting Fire Country Before Season 4
Original Fire Country cast Stephanie Arcila and Billy Burke are leaving the CBS action drama TV series ahead of the season 4 premiere.
Sharon’s return to being division chief in Fire Country season 3 left Luke, who had taken over her as interim division chief, without a job. During the Leone fishing trip that made Bode realize something was wrong with Walter, Luke finally announced he was moving abroad. While Luke also appeared in Fire Country season 3, episode 13, he was gone by Fire Country season 3’s ending, as Walter mentioned his son being abroad in season 3, episode 17. With the entire Leone family affected by the events of Fire Country season 3’s finale, Luke will have to return to Edgewater.
Luke's Affinity To Chaos Can Make The Leone Tragedy Aftermath Even Worse
Luke Created Trouble In Fire Country Seasons 1 & 2
Luke's return in Fire Country season 4 can potentially make the already delicate situation of the Leone tragedy's aftermath worse. While Fire Country established Luke's capability for good, it also highlighted his propensity to chaos. His first appearance in Fire Country season 1, episode 5 showed the aftermath of Riley's death, and how he offered Vince to unload everything he wanted to tell Bode on him, to protect his nephew. Not many episodes after, Luke also made a at Sharon in the main timeline, mistaking her venting for a romantic interest in him.
Having Luke Bode, Sharon and Walter in that delicate moment could go either way.
If the assumption that Vince will be the one to die in Fire Country season 4 is correct, the tragedy’s aftermath will be characterized by heightened emotions, making that the worst time for Luke to return. Considering how, whether he had good news or bad news to share, Luke always phrased it the worst possible way (like when he basically told it was Vince’s time to take care of Walter at the Leone fishing trip in Fire Country season 3), having Luke Bode, Sharon and Walter in that delicate moment could go either way.
How Luke's Return From Japan Can Be Good News For Bode In Fire Country Season 4
Luke Was Extremely Helpful For Bode In Fire Country Season 3, Episode 13
Although Luke’s relationships with Vince and Sharon were always characterized by misunderstandings and conflict, his relationship with Bode rarely involved irreconcilable differences. While they were close to fighting when it was revealed in Fire Country season 2 that Luke had suggested closing Three Rock, the interactions between Bode and his uncle were mostly positive. Luke was not only the one Leone who protected Bode from Vince’s anger after Riley’s death, but he also recognized Bode and Gabriela’s special bond in Fire Country season 3, going to Gabriela to ask about how Bode was faring within Cal Fire.
Fire Country season 3 is available to stream on Paramount Plus.
Instead of waiting for Bode to go to him, like Vince and Sharon planned to do when they saw Bode struggling with losing his first patient as a Cal Fire firefighter, Luke tackled the problem head-on when he realized Bode was about to respond to Coach Kimbro’s taunts. It’s unclear whether Luke started looking out for Bode because of his nephew’s status as the family black sheep, something he related to, but Luke always offered Bode . Their special bond and Luke being there can make the difference, even potentially stopping Bode’s downfall in Fire Country season 4.
