Warner Bros. and DC Films have finally given Game Night duo John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein all have left the project at various points. Originally set for a 2018 release date, The Flash failed to hit this date due to the constant changes.

Now, one reason the project has been delayed so many different times. As a sign that The Flash is coming together in its current form that is pleasing the studios, it now has a release date.

As shared by THR reporter Borys Kit, Warner Bros. announced that The Flash will hit theaters on July 1, 2022. This will come over four years after when The Flash was originally scheduled to be released. This far out, Miller's solo DC movie will be the biggest draw of the holiday weekend, as only an untitled Illumination animated movie is set for the same date.

Ever since The Flash failed to hit its 2018 release date, WB has never put another official date on their calendar for the movie. Unlike the hopes of a release in 2020 or 2021, the July 2022 release date is now set in stone. It comes on the heels of Miller's schedule for Fantastic Beasts 3 finalizing too, which pointed towards production on The Flash not being able to begin until sometime in 2021. The 2022 release date indicates that this is indeed the plan. However, some fans will understandably be cautious with their excitement given the troubles The Flash has had so far.

If Miller's solo movie does stick to the summer 2022 release date, WB and DC will be taking advantage of the early July window that has proven to be lucrative for Sony and Marvel's adding Black Adam to their 2021 lineup. They now have seven confirmed live-action releases through 2022, with room to add more as well, and thankfully The Flash is now one of them.
