Brad Pitt's character looks concerned in Wolfs trailer 2024

Kosinski has directed a handful of projects since Tron: Legacy, his first feature film, in 2010, but it was Top Gun: Maverick that really made him a filmmaker to keep an eye on. The Tom Cruise film was acclaimed due to its thrilling aerial combat sequences, most of which were accomplished with a big emphasis on practicality. The Top Gun: Maverick cast were filmed inside real fighter jets, and many of the aerial maneuvers were captured in camera (though VFX also played a crucial role in the film).

Brad Pitt’s Formula 1 Movie’s Biggest Obstacle Isn’t Its $300 Million Budget

Brad Pitt's Formula 1 movie reportedly has a $300 million budget; however, despite the financial pressure, this isn't the film's biggest obstacle.

Top Gun: Maverick's propulsive and visceral action sequences obviously make Kosinski a great fit for the F1 movie. Both movies also feature aging but still revered movie stars. While many mysteries remain about the new film, it seems to be using many of the same filming techniques and philosophies that were employed on Top Gun: Maverick. The movie's racing scenes feature Pitt driving real F2 and F3 cars, sometimes during real races.

While Pitt's F1 movie may not be coming out until 2025, the movie star is set to appear in Wolfs later this year opposite George Clooney.

Advances in technology have allowed for multiple small cameras to be placed inside the vehicles' cockpits, ensuring that audiences will not only see Pitt doing his own driving, but giving viewers an idea of what it's like to be in the middle of an intense race. Like Top Gun: Maverick, there's a great deal of attention being paid to ensuring that the movie feels as real and as practical as possible. While Pitt's Formula 1 movie certainly has a high bar for success given its reported price tag, the ingredients are certainly there for the film to achieve success.
