Warning: SPOILERS ahead for Ghosts season 4, episode 5, "A Star Is Dead"Sasappis (Román Zaragoza) faces unique hurdles when it comes to love in ghost spirit power, he meets her again when she pops into Jay's dreams.

Sass and Marisa hit it off, and the Lenape ghost asks Sam to ask Jay (Utkarsh Ambudkar) to dream about Marisa intentionally so he can date her. While it's an odd request for Sam (Rose McIver) to put in with her husband, Jay obliges, and Sass begins to see Marisa in Jay's subconscious. However, things take a weird turn when Sass tells Pete (Richie Moriarty) and Trevor (Asher Grodman) that Marisa likes Star Wars and Sonic, interests oddly reminiscent of Jay. The Ghosts season 4 characters realize that Marisa is just a figment of Jay's mind, punctuating Sass' dating struggles.

Sasappis Doesn't Date Anyone At Woodstone (Unlike The Other Spirits)

Sass Wants To Date But Hasn't Been Successful

Unlike almost every ghost character, Sasappis has never had a romantic connection with one of the other ghosts at Woodstone Mansion. The series hasn't even teased that he may have chemistry with another Woodstone spirit. Instead, Sass keeps to himself romantically, but it's not his choice. There is an ongoing joke that Sass doesn't have much experience with dating leading up to season 4, but he always protests that he had a girlfriend. Sass does have a few romantic run-ins, like when he sends messages to Shiki (Crystle Lightning) or dates the car ghost. Still, Sass' relationships are short-lived.

Sass' hurdles are unique and set him up for a great love story in Ghosts season 4.

By contrast, Thor (Devan Chandler Long) and Flower (Sheila Carrasco) are in a pretty serious relationship. Isaac (Brandon Scott Jones) also had a serious relationship with Nigel (John Hartman). While they never date, Pete used to have a massive crush on Alberta (Danielle Pinnock), and there's chemistry there at times. Even Hetty (Rebecca Wisocky) and Trevor have a relationship, and while it's primarily physical, it provides them both with regular intimacy. Thus, Sass' hurdles are unique and set him up for a great love story in Ghosts season 4.

How Ghosts Can Fix Sasappis' Romance Problem

What Will Sasappis' Romance Look Like?

Pete looking surprised with a fake arrow through his neck in Ghosts season 4, episode 5

Ghosts season 4, episode 5, lays out a solution to Sasappis' romance problem, though it may not be the most realistic. After Sass realizes he's dating Jay, Pete offers to use his geographically unbound ghost power to leave the property in search of a partner for Sass. It seems far-fetched that Pete could pick the right person, but watching some dating montage play out would be fun. Ultimately, the series needs to decide whether to give Sass a long-term partner, which would mean adding a new ghost on a recurring basis. Otherwise, Sass will continue to date unsuccessfully in Ghosts.
