Recently on TikTok, the set costumer for Gilmore Girls, Valerie Campbell, shared her experiences in a series of videos when she worked on the show. According to The List, Campbell and her colleagues created rules for the characters once they realized they had a set look. As an example, she explained that Luke always wore a plaid shirt and a backward hat and Richard always wore a pocket square.

As was the case for Lorelai; they made sure that jeans were her go-to fashion choice but the show's creator didn't love when Lorelai or Rory showed skin. Fans know that Lorelai was an early 2000s fashion icon, and it only made her more likable. Now that the show has been over since 2007, fans have resulted in creating spot-on memes of the character that showcase her style, parenting, and love of coffee.

When Luke Said He'd Never Seen Pippi Longstocking

Luke Danes wasn't a pop-culture buff like Lorelai was so when he casually mentioned that he never saw a particular movie, heard a song, or saw a celebrity, Lorelai couldn't fathom a similar life.

One great example is when Lorelai and Rory had a double date with Luke and Dean. Luke never saw Pippi Longstocking, so the Gilmore girls practically forced the men to watch it. Like the meme shared by @_Starshollow_, Lorelai made sure Luke saw all of her favorite movies and was typically right in of cinematic masterpieces or failures.

The Ultimate Coffee Addict

Most of Lorelai and Luke's best episodes revolved around the two talking over a hot cup of coffee at Luke's Diner. Whether she took it to-go on her way to work or sipped it there, many of their important conversations were around coffee.

@Espresso_works shared a meme that was the epitome of Lorelai Gilmore. Early on when Lorelai first met Max Medina and asked her if he liked coffee, she replied "only with my oxygen." She reacted similarly to her former date Alex who was opening a cafe. For Lorelai, coffee was more than coffee — it was a lifestyle.

Lorelai Loved Drama That Didn't Involve Her

Lorelai loved drama that didn't involve her. Whether it was Jess and Dean getting in a fight at a house party over Rory or her mom and dad fighting over something senseless, Lorelai loved to be a fly on the wall. This was especially true at town hall meetings.

Some had problems with Lorelai for the way she treated other people's drama because she, more than anyone, knew what it was like to have drama in her own life. Lorelai was constantly dramatically bickering with her family, in some sort of lover's quarrel, or a situation at work. While watching drama unfold was entertaining, it wasn't always healthy.

Anything But Friday Night Dinners

There were some memorable Friday night dinners throughout Gilmore Girls, and they all started because the Gilmores wanted more of an influence in Rory's life and asked for dinner every Friday night in return for paying for Rory's tuition.

If it were up to Lorelai, she'd skip every Friday night dinner but she had no choice but to go for the sake of Rory. However, if Lorelai was playing Uno, she'd most definitely pick up 25 cards over going to dinner with the parents that bothered her — just like the meme from @MissPattysPrincess showed.

Was April The Cause Of Luke And Lorelai's Demise?

Lorelai made plenty of mistakes in her relationship with Luke, but it was Luke who made things worse when he found out he had a 12-year-old daughter and never told Lorelai about it for months out of fear.

He wanted to get to know his daughter April better before introducing her to Lorelai, but as his fiance, Lorelai had a right to know. This hilarious meme shared by @GilmoreGirlies poked fun at April ruining Luke and Lorelai's relationship like a train hitting a bus.

Marrying Christopher Was The Wrong Move

Lorelai knew that marrying Max Medina was a bad idea because they rushed their relationship. She wasn't ready for someone to interfere with her and her daughter's life. When Lorelai started dating Luke, it felt like the stars were finally aligned for both of them.

Seeing how much they complimented each other, fans were devastated when they broke up and Lorelai immediately started dating Christopher. When they got married on a whim, she realized she made a mistake and wanted to go back in time. This was also how fans felt and it was brilliantly displayed in meme form from @GilmoreGirls.Il.

Luke's Diner Over Everything

Gilmore Girls had amazing food moments since Lorelai and Rory were food-obsessed. Whether it was pizza, candies, or ice cream, the Gilmore girls wanted it all.

Since Stars Hollow was small, the women only had a few places they could order takeout from, including Al's Pancake World and Luke's Diner. Although Al's Pancake World had more than just pancakes on its menu, Luke's Diner reigned supreme over every restaurant in town because of their love of burgers and fries.

Taylor Was More Invested In Lorelai & Luke's Relationship Than He Should Have Been

@GilmoreGirlsCrack nailed it with his meme. As soon as Lorelai and Luke started dating, Taylor Doose knew it was bad news for the town. With Stars Hollow being tight-knit and Luke and Lorelai being too prominent of the town, their breakup could ruin more than they realized.

Taylor expected a breakup after every fight and eventually tried to smooth things over with Team Blue and Team Pink ribbons when they did break up for a short time. Taylor didn't want anything bad to happen to the couple but knew it was inevitable based on their track record.

Lorelai Would Rather Dance

Some of the better side character storylines involved Taylor's desire for a stellar 24-hour dance-a-thon and the Festival of Living Art. While Lorelai loved the idea of dancing for 24 hours and earning a prize, she was anything but excited about posing as a painting for minutes at a time in front of an audience.

If Lorelai had to choose, she'd choose the dance-a-thon again and again. She could have won the dance-a-thon shown but she had a heel malfunction before her dancing parting (Rory) had a meltdown after Dean broke up with her on the dance floor.
