The ladies in Girls5eva each have their own unique personalities, though events like Summer's divorce, Wickie falling in love with an "average" man, Gloria believing it's time she sows her wild oats, and Dawn's pregnancy could mean some changes for the women going forward.
The Peacock original series has a nice mix of both smart and not-so-smart characters. For the ones who lack intelligence, it's exaggerated to an unbelievable level for the purpose of coming across as a parody. It's no surprise which characters are the smartest and which could do with some more schooling, but it's interesting to look at how and why.
Kev
Kev is a complete caricature of the boy bander who focused entirely on his looks and sex symbol status and became completely unaware of the world around him. He has no discernable skills and didn't even spend much time with his own daughter, which meant he lacked parenting skills as well. This was evidenced when he panicked learning that Summer might go on tour, leaving him to be the primary caregiver for their daughter while she was away.
Kev tried to pivot careers after the divorce and sell real estate, but it quickly became evident that he didn't really know what he was doing. He has good intentions, but he isn't the sharpest tool in the shed.
Summer
Summer, one of the best characters on Girls5eva, is arguably the sweetest, most naïve member of the group. But she is also the least intelligent. She didn't pursue education beyond what she learned prior to ing the girl group. She grew up in a sheltered life and didn't have many experiences to draw from either.
Summer might always have good intentions, but she lacks some basic skills and isn't able to lead the group in a way that requires deep insight or knowledge. With that said, she's a valuable member of the team who the other girls appreciate for other reasons beyond her smarts, or lack thereof.
Larry
Larry might have been smart in that he organized Girls5eva back in the '90s and made them contractually obligated to him. He basically took a massive cut of everything they earned (and would earn) and made it impossible for them to be successful without him.
But he also made it difficult for them to be successful with him because before they even had a chance, he had moved on to the next big thing. He was not unintelligent, but he didn't come across as someone who would ever become as big as he wanted to be simply because he didn't possess the necessary skills and drive to do so.
Wickie
Wickie comes across as self-absorbed and egotistical, but it's never implied that she isn't smart. Any decision she makes is calculated. She might sometimes make puzzling decisions, like binding herself to a billion-year reality show judge contract. Indeed, one of the things that needed to happen in season 2 of Girls5eva was that she was able to get out of that contract. But her sometimes rash decisions are often made because she is blinded by her own desire for fame.
She was smart enough to try and devise a career for herself as a solo singer and managed to keep herself afloat long after Girls5eva broke up. She understands what needs to be done in the business and is often a leader of the group. Wickie understands the steps they need to take to become successful again and is often initially the only one willing to take them.
Scott
Dawn's husband Scott is often in the background as she pursues her dream. But he's no slouch himself. He works hard and takes on a lot of the child-rearing responsibilities for their young son without ever complaining about having to do it. When it comes to which Girls5eva character fans might be based on zodiac sign, Scott falls firmly into the Libra camp as someone who is non-confrontational, ive, and willing to compromise, all smart moves to make for a happy marriage.
He is intelligent enough to understand what his wife needs to be happy. He is a great parent and a system for them both. He is often the voice of reason for both Dawn and Wickie, who he is patient with despite the way she treats him while staying in their home. He gives advice and knows when he should butt out, proving that Scott might be corny, but he's plenty smart.
Gloria
Gloria is arguably the most successful of the women from the group, having pursued a career as a dentist after her short stint with fame. She has a well-paying job and a prestigious position that has given her financial stability.
She is intuitive and smart when it comes to decisions for the group. While she has her own personal struggles, including pining for her ex, harboring ill feelings about some of the things she did in her youth, and resenting the time she lost by not being her true self, she is one of the most intelligent.
Dawn
Dawn is the most level-headed of the group and came up with some of the best songs from season 1 of Girls5eva as the group's resident songwriter. She was never interested in being famous but rather simply wanted to be heard and pursue her ion, both with her tremendous voice and song-writing abilities. While she was part of a girl group, Dawn could have had a career as a solo artist or even songwriter for other singers. But she stuck with her ladies.
She worked hard at her brother's restaurant to provide for her family and moved on from her once exciting youth to get married and have a child. She is the one who grew up the most and is clearly the force that has always held the ladies together.
