Godzilla Vs. The World

Although Godzilla is currently enjoying a piece of the spotlight over at Marvel and DC, his central role in IDW’s unfolding universe is shaping up to be the kind of thing fans dream of. Jake Williams’ expressed his particular excitement for the mini, Godzilla: Heist, stating that it was an “easy one to immediately greenlight” and will handle Godzilla being summoned as a distraction for a robbery. It's only the first in a growing line of Kaiju stories, as Godzilla vs. America will let the lizard stomp through new cities all across the United States, potentially turning into a long-running series.

As Jake Williams explained:

We’ve created a new world to explore, and we’re going to use the various series to show every angle of it. This take is going to let us do different stories, in different genres, that will feel standalone, but also serve as a smaller part of the larger narrative.

Before the year is even halfway finished, Godzilla fans will already have a feast of content to enjoy and the promise of much more on the way. Williams expressed an interest in creating "long running stories" and the team is ready to keep writing whatever books connect with the fanbase. As an added bonus, artists Nikola Cizmesija and Pablo Tunica have come up with a "terrifying" new look for the Kaiju that fans will have to see to believe. IDW Publishing's 2025 line-up is rich with new stories, characters, and designs to unleash its Godzilla universe.
