WARNING! This List Contains Spoilers For Gotham Knights. With the release of Gotham Knights, fans can finally play as their favorite Batman protégé fighting to protect the streets of Gotham from the mysterious Court of Owls. This includes Batgirl, the daughter of the now-deceased Commissioner Gordon.
Each character has a focus on a certain type of combat. For Batgirl, it's a focus on single-target combat, and her abilities back that up, with skills that increase critical damage, defensive capabilities, and using technology in the environment. However, some skills and abilities are better than others in the game, and there are ten in particular that gamers may want to focus on getting first.
Beatdown
Much like Batman could do in the Arkhamverse, Beatdown lets Batgirl perform multiple quick strikes to an enemy to do massive damage.
This skill is particularly useful to take down a single enemy in short order. And while other attacks can disrupt this momentum ability, other skills, such as Elite Beatdown, can prevent this from happening, letting Batgirl be able to freely beat her enemies senseless without interruption. Not only that but Beatdown can also be upgraded with Piercing Beatdown to let her stop armored attacks against her, making this ability an easy choice to unlock.
Digital Ghost
As a general tip for beginners to Gotham Knights, stealth is key to many encounters. With Digital Ghost, Batgirl shows off her hacking skills to become the stealthiest one of all.
Digital Ghost makes it so that Batgirl can't be detected by electronic devices such as sensors and cameras, making her invisible to these forms of detection. This can allow players to get through areas heavy with these detection methods in a much simpler and calmer fashion, letting them focus more on avoiding guards rather than cameras.
Health Regen+
Having to rely on health packs to gain more health can be annoying at times. Luckily for Batgirl, she has multiple skills that can help her regain more health better.
One such skill is Health Regen+, which lets Batgirl heal 40% of her health when outside of combat. So while she travels around Gotham through one of many modes of transportation in Gotham Knights, she can regenerate a large portion of health that she lost during combat, leaving her in a better state to fight in when she comes across another group of enemies to beat up.
Fear Takedown
Spreading fear to the enemies in Gotham Knights is important to make fights easier, and Batgirl can easily spread fear in a manner similar to that of Batman in the Arkhamverse.
Fear Takedown spreads fear to surrounding enemies following an Ambush Takedown while also increasing Batgirl's critical chance and damage by 15% for 10 seconds. Not only does performing the Ambush Takedown eliminate one enemy off the bat, but with the Fear Takedown skill active, players can spread fear and do increased damage for a short time, making clearing out areas a breeze.
Precise Strikes
Scoring critical hits can rack up damage on enemies quickly, but the chances of getting critical hits can be small at times. Precise Strikes alters those chances for the better rapidly.
Precise Strikes increases Batgirl's chances for critical hits by 10%. It may not seem like a lot, but in practice, even a 10% increase gives players many more critical hits in combat. Given that Batgirl's playstyle involves engaging single enemies to take them down quickly, more critical hits means faster takedowns, leaving Batgirl able to target the next enemy in line quicker.
Drone Firepower
Batgirl's drone is one of the best weapons in Gotham Knights, but its fire rate may not be what players want it to be. That's where the Drone Firepower skill comes into play.
Drone Firepower increases the fire rate of Batgirl's drone. In gameplay, the drone can do massive damage to enemies, increased even further with the better fire rate that Drone Firepower gives it. As any gamer knows, a weapon with a better fire rate that still does the same amount of damage per shot is worth getting, especially when dealing with mobs of enemies like in Gotham Knights.
Remote Hacking
Though there are many differences between Gotham Knights and the Arkhamverse, something that remains the same are the annoyance that certain technological obstacles like mines and turrets pose, which is why Remote Hacking is such an important skill to acquire.
Upon unlocking this skill, Batgirl will have the ability to disable electronic devices using AR mode. As many players who have used a similar skill in similar games, having the power to disable and disrupt hindering electronic devices and weapons can make players' lives easier. Now Batgirl can focus on taking out the large thug barreling at her rather than worrying about the turret that could cut her to ribbons.
Tonfa Jackhammer
As mentioned before, Batgirl's playstyle is based on fighting single enemies one on one rather than dealing out damage to multiple enemies at once. As such, it can be difficult for her to overcome enemies that swarm her.
To help Batgirl out with dealing out area-of-effect damage, players should unlock the Tonfa Jackhammer momentum ability, which allows Batgirl to create a circular wave of damage around her that knocks back and stagers enemies. If she is being corned by a large group of enemies and taking them all on one by one proves challenging, Tonfa Jackhammer can help Batgirl get herself out of trouble, making this ability essential to get.
Second Wind
Even the best players will fail at missions at one point or another, whether it be missing an objective or just getting overwhelmed by enemies. While no skill can help with the former, Batgirl's Second Wind skill can easily help out with the latter.
With Second Wind, Batgirl will revive with 50% health once per combat should she be downed. Not only that, but other skills, like Second Wind+ and Vigilante Resolve, can improve the after-effects of Second Wind and let her use the ability twice. Being downed can be frustrating, especially depending on how far back the previous checkpoint is, but Second Wind can stave off this frustration, at least for a little longer.
Drone
Batgirl's ultimate ability is also one of her best ones. That ability is, of course, her Drone momentum ability.
Upon using this ability, Batgirl summons a drone that can both heal her and her allies as well as shoot at enemies for 30 seconds. This skill is perfect not only because it adds more firepower to the equation, but also because it assists allies and heals them, which works especially well if they are almost dead. Not only that, but having a drone plays into Batgirl's legacy of being the hacker Oracle, showing off more of her comic book roots with this one ultimate ability.
