Fans may be clamoring for Adam Sandler to deliver Grown Ups 3, but the sequel has failed to materialize in over a decade. While Sandler occasionally delights audiences and critics when he breaks out of his comfort zone for more dramatic work like Uncut Gems, it's clear he also loves uniting a bunch of his comedy friends and getting paid to just goof off. This is true of movies like I Now Pronounce You Chuck And Larry and the Grown Ups duology.
The original 2010 Grown Ups cast featured Sandler, Chris Rock, Kevin James, David Spade, and Rob Schneider as childhood friends who reunite and get into mischief. The film was widely panned but was a solid box-office success, leading the team to get back together for 2013's Grown Ups 2 - though Schneider didn't return. Remarkably, it earned worse reviews but was still a significant financial success. While it's not a story that requires an epic trilogy, the success of the series suggests Grown Ups 3 would be a guaranteed hit.

The 10 Best Adam Sandler Characters, Ranked
Adam Sandler's comedic talent often goes unacknowledged despite his ability to breathe life into incredible and intriguing characters.
Grown Ups 3 Is Not Confirmed
No Word Yet On A Threequel
More than a decade after Grown Ups 2 hit theaters, a third movie is still unconfirmed. Grown Ups 2 came three years after the first, so the fact that there has yet to be any serious talk of Grown Ups 3 could indicate that there are no real plans to continue the franchise.
Adam Sandler's Happy Gilmore 2 is also confirmed at Netflix.
While Grown Ups 2 marked Adam Sandler's first sequel of his career, he has since built the Hotel Transylvania franchise, and made Murder Mystery 2. Perhaps this new interest in sequels might inspire Sandler to return to the Grown Ups franchise even after such a long hiatus.
Grown Ups 3 Cast
Potential Cast for a Third Grown Ups Film
The cast is a big part of what makes the Grown Ups movies successful, so having the big names return would be essential for a third movie. Adam Sandler is the lead of the franchise as likable family man Lenny Feder, who is married to Roxanne, played by Salma Hayek.
After missing out on Grown Ups 2, a third movie could also see Rob Schnieder return as Rob Hilliard.
Of course, the rest of the main cast is filled by Sandler's famous friends like Chris Rock as Kurt McKenzie, David Spade as Marcus Higgins, and Kevin James as Eric Lamonsoff. After missing out on Grown Ups 2, a third movie could also see Rob Schnieder return as Rob Hilliard.

Grown Ups 3 Story Details
What Happens When The Grown Ups Return?
There have been no Grown Ups 3 updates regarding the story and no hints at what direction the movie could take if it is ever made. The first movie finds the childhood friends reuniting for the funeral of their beloved basketball coach, while the sequel picks up with them all living back in their hometown and enjoying the summer together. The third movie would likely find some scenario to have all the friends together again, with a vacation getaway or wedding serving as some solid excuses for hijinks from these immature adult characters.
On the other hand, Grown Ups 3 could break with tradition and deliver something entirely different. Since so many years have ed between movies, the third film could contrive another reason for the group to reunite, such as the ing of one of their own, or perhaps a child's wedding. Though the movies are hardly high art, Grown Ups 3 could finally show the gang becoming more mature as their children begin to become adults themselves.
