A beta for the long-awaited Halo Infinite campaign co-op has been delayed repeatedly, but fans will finally get their hands on the staple series feature in the near future.

Following a lengthy development rife with delays, Halo Infinite released its multiplayer mode as a free-to-play open beta in November 2021. The title's single-player campaign, which takes the franchise's iconic protagonist Master Chief on an open-world adventure across Zeta Halo, then launched as a paid title in December. Unfortunately, Halo Infinite released without two of the series most beloved modes: the map editor Forge and campaign co-op. Since the very first entry in the series, each Halo title has allowed two or more players to experience the game's storyline together through split-screen or online cooperative play. An August release for Halo Infinite's campaign co-op is set, and an beta suggests that this release date will actually stick.

A report from IGN reveals that a Halo Infinite campaign co-op beta will be held from July 11 to July 22. The campaign co-op beta will let up to four players form a Fireteam experience the entire campaign together. The open beta will be free to anyone who owns Halo Infinite, or subscribes to Xbox Game , though gamers must the Xbox Insider Program to participate. The Steam campaign co-op beta will also only be available to PC s who sign up before July 5.  Held between July 11 and July 22, the open beta is meant to identify any technical issues in the mode before it officially launches in August.

Halo Infinite's Campaign co-op and Forge mode delayed again

While fans will soon get to experience the game's campaign co-op, the highly-anticipated Halo Infinite Forge mode is still yet to release. First introduced in 2007's Halo 3, the unique mode allows players to edit multiplayer maps to create unique gameplay situations or entirely original environments. Since its introduction Forge has become a staple of the Halo franchise, with titles like Halo: Reach and Halo 4 building upon the concept by adding new tools and features. A Forge open beta is expected to hit Halo Infinite in September, with leaks teasing exciting new mechanics like weapon combinations and customizable weather effects.

Halo Infinite includes a lengthy campaign and robust multiplayer mode, but fans have long awaited the addition of campaign co-op to the sci-fi series' latest entry. Starting July 11, players will be able to experience the open-world shooter together as a group. The open beta will run until July 22, giving Halo Infinite players plenty of time to look for bugs while teaming up with their fellow Spartan soldiers.
