The third season of Peacemaker that he exists in the DCEU.
While no other information is known, many eager fans could take this news as a declaration to establish another new shared universe for DC comic characters. As such, there are several other Harley Quinn characters who would make worthy recipients of their own spin-off.
Bane
One of the most prevalent villains that Harley grapples with throughout the first two seasons is Bane. He starts off as a member of the Legion of Doom with the other primetime villains like Joker and Lex Luthor. Following the events of season one – in which, the Hall of Doom is destroyed and Gotham is effectively cut off from the world – he s up with the Mr. Freeze, Penguin, Riddler, and Two-Face in forming the Injustice League.
While his voice is reminiscent of Christian Bale’s performance in what makes Bane one of the funniest characters in the series. His ridiculous personality and campy antics make him a fan-favorite, so an entire show dedicated to him – and his pit perhaps – would certainly something many viewers would be eager to watch.
Catwoman
From her first moment in season 2, Selina Kyle aka Catwoman quickly stole the attention of not only Poison Ivy but the viewers as well. Despite repeatedly abandoning Ivy to fend for themselves when danger arises, they seem to remain on good – so much so that she is one of Ivy’s bridesmaids at her ill-fated wedding. One of the best things about Catwoman in Harley Quinn is that the show embraces her bisexuality, something that has been lacking in past incarnations.
Encoming that, her energy, and her skills, Catwoman would make a great protagonist for a solo series. It would also be exciting to see yet another distinct interpretation of such a classic character, since there are talks that Zoe Kravitz’s Catwoman from The Batman could be getting an HBO Max spin-off.
Queen of Fables
Along with Joker, the secondary antagonist in season one ends up being the Queen of Fables. Comedian Wanda Sykes voices the character in her first on-screen adaptation since her creation in 2000. While she initially serves as a person Harley ires for her years of experience, the Queen of Fables ends up going too far, even for Harley. In the end she is killed by Harley so she can then go after Joker.
Obviously, the Queen of Fables couldn’t get her own spin-off show following or concurrent with Harley Quinn – unless they can magically reattach her head to her body, which isn’t out of the question. However, it would be entertaining to see her early days as a villain in a prequel series. This could explore her rise to power, combating not only heroes but also society.
Tw0-Face
As Harley Quinn is set primarily in Gotham, the show heavily relies on of Batman’s iconic rogues gallery. One of the most important, who deserves more time in the spotlight is Harvey Dent aka Two-Face. Like Bane, he becomes an even-more major player in Gotham in season two in ruling over the city once America relinquishes control. Though this brings him in conflict with Harley, they eventually end up working together to break out of prison.
He will likely resurface in season three and beyond in Harley Quinn, but he would certainly warrant a show of his own. Two-Face is a good choice since this would further showcase his more absurd tendencies – especially in contrast to overtly dramatic portrayals in past films and tv shows.
Joshua Cobblepot
The Penguin and his fellow Injustice League – Bane, Mr. Freeze, Ridder, and Two-Face – all divied up sovereignty of Gotham City following its decimation at the hands of Joker and the Queen of Fables. Harley, who was fed up with being overlooked and disrespected consistently, decided to get what she’s owed and took the fight directly to Penguin. In a particularly bloody sequence, Harley killed Penguin, leaving his son, Joshua without a father.
While he is a relatively minor character, Joshua could make for an interesting TV series. This could entail him seeking to take over for his father, learning the ropes for being a crime boss. Alternatively, this could also bring in other children of prominent DC villains or their side-kicks – perhaps facing off against a Teen Titan’s like team with Damian Wayne as Robin.
Darkseid
Harley is able to defeat the Injustice League in part to striking a deal with the legendary leader of Apokolips, Darkseid. Doctor Psycho eventually steals that partnership and he lays siege on Earth with a parademon army. Part of the greatness in Harley Quinn is that even the most gruesome moments – like when parademons murder hundreds of people or when Darkseid squishes Forager’s head – it still never loses its humor.
A series focused specifically on Darkseid, the other powers on Apokolips, and his goals for multiversal subjugation could be very fascinating. It would further diverge from what is being set up in the latest arc on Young Justice. While it wouldn’t be very uplifting, in keeping with the atmosphere of Harley Quinn, such a show would certainly shed a new light on these iconic characters.
Vixen
Since the release of the second season in 2020, fans have eagerly waited for new episodes to see what comes next for Harley and Ivy as a couple. They were eventually gifted with a six-issue spin-off comic series called Harley Quinn: The Animated Series – The Eat. Bang! Kill. Tour. Picking up directly after leaving Kite Man at the altar, Harley and Ivy go on a Thelma and Louise-esque road trip, running into Hush, Livewire, Zatanna, and Vixen along the way.
Vixen, already had an animated series as part of the CW’s Arrowverse, but this would be different and showcase another LGBTQ+ woman as the protagonist. It would exciting to see such a character move from the comics to on-screen, and her abilities to mimjc any animal’s strengths and talents definitely lends itself well to this style of animation.
Captain Boomerang
The Eat. Bang! Kill. Tour’s final issue ends with Harley and Ivy out on the road again, this time to Central City, home to the Flash. As such, while they are not among the list of confirmed new characters – like Nightwing, Amanda Waller, and Swamp Thing – it is highly likely that the Rogues will pop up.
These are Flash’s greatest enemies all teamed up, and whether the entire team is featured or just select , one deserves their own series: Captain Boomerang. His popularity and absurd antics would lend themselves well to a Harley Quinn-like show with its absurd, yet gory aesthetic. As a consistent member of the Suicide Squad, this show too could incorporate other related characters, like Waller, Rick Flag, and Deadshot.
