Peacock has responded to HBO Max replacement went down on launch day, the issue was soon ironed out, allowing customers to access Max's library of movies and TV shows. Now, Peacock has responded to Max's name change on Twitter with a joking suggestion for their own name change.

The suggestion pokes fun at Max no longer having HBO in the title of their streaming service, while also making the perfect dirty joke about Peacock. It seems the streaming service doesn't have plans to follow in Max's footsteps.

Why HBO Max Is Now Just Max

HBO Max revealed their Max streaming rebrand back in April, though reports about an HBO Max rebrand first surfaced in 2022. Max offers the same library of films and shows as HBO Max, but with the addition of projects created by Discovery. While Discovery+ will continue to exist, the library of content on the streaming service will be mirrored on Max.

Alongside preexisting TV shows and movies, Max will also be home to a plethora of new, original content. This includes TV shows that will tie into James Gunn's DC Universe, as well as a TV remake of J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter franchise. By rebranding as Max, the streaming service is able to more clearly define itself as a separate entity from HBO, lending to the uniqueness of original shows and movies produced for the platform.

Peacock's creative response is just one of many ways HBO Max's rebrand to Max has been mocked online. This has included jokes about Max's slogan, "the one to watch for HBO," as well as the many other HBO streaming service names over the years. While Max might open new doors for Warner Bros. Discovery's production of content, the service may need some time to settle in before that comes to .
