Sanrio, the company who created numerous brand collaborations over the years, with major companies like McDonald's, Build-a-Bear, and Uniqlo ing forces with the company. Since Sanrio is a Japanese-based company, it also comes as no surprise that they have dabbled in the world of anime as well, placing their unique characters in some of the most famous series of all-time.

Attack on Titan, one of anime's most violent, dark series, was the star of a recent Sanrio collaboration, and despite the series' oftentimes grim subject matter, its characters are positively charming next to some of Sanrio's most famous faces.

Attack on Titan's Anime Collaboration is Actually Surprisingly Adorable

This Partnership Features Lesser-Known Sanrio Personalities Alongside Attack on Titan's Best Heroes

The Sanrio x Attack on Titan team-up includes a wide range of both Sanrio and Attack on Titan characters. The partnership does not just focus on the most famous characters in the Sanrio franchise, like Hello Kitty, it incorporates lesser-known fan favorites Badtz-Maru and Pochacco. Sanrio has released Attack on Titan-themed merchandise before, including some lovable plushies and artwork in 2021 that gave each Attack on Titan anime character a Sanrio counterpart.

The two most recent Sanrio x Attack on Titan designs highlight two beloved Attack on Titan heroes, Eren Yeager and Levi Ackerman. Levi is paired with Badtz-Maru, Sanrio's penguin character who is known for his mischievous personality, and Eren teams up with Pochacco, a white dog with black ears who is sporty and loves to play games. The main art in the collaboration is surprisingly casual, putting both Levi and Eren in loungewear that is very unlike their typical soldier attire seen in the Attack on Titan anime series.

Pochacco himself sits atop the back of Eren's neck, and Badtz-Maru is on Levi's shoulder. The characters are surrounded by clouds and small moons, contributing to the relaxing, peaceful feeling of the design that gives these overstressed heroes a well-deserved break.
