Help! I'm In A Secret Relationship takes after Catfish as it tries to help people figure out why their relationship isn't going as expected. The show has completed its first season run with ten episodes and has social media reeling about whether the show is fake or helping people.
Either way, the show has had some wild moments during the reveal part of the show, when Travis and Rahne finally get to the bottom of why their subjects are being hidden from the world. The show has yet to be renewed by MTV but will likely get another season due to the attention it has been getting on social media.
Vivi & Diontre (S1, Ep1)
After speculation of cheating and a double life, Vivi and Diontre were on the verge of breaking up. Vivi was especially hurt at being hidden because she had shared the most vulnerable parts of her life with Diontre, but he wasn't doing the same.
When the reveal happened, it seemed like Diontre wanted people to think he was single, but in reality, he didn't want to disappoint Vivi with his living situation. Even after being lied to, Vivi was understanding, and the two stuck it out and stayed together.
Donald & Stormi (S1, E8)
Donald and Stormi are one of the few couples getting ready to walk down the aisle on the show, but Stormi is in no rush to plan a wedding. Once Stormi came clean about her relationship with her best friend being more than just friendly.
This reveal is similar to the wildest Catfish episodes, as Stormi broke her friend's heart and stayed with Donald, even though they still weren't seeing eye to eye. Stormi didn't seem guilty about anything she did to her friend or Donald. Before the credits, it was shown that Stormi and Donald had split, which fans felt was for the best since they were so different.
Sharelle & Kurt (S1, Ep 3)
Two years is a long time to be in a relationship and not be introduced to someone's family, which led Sharelle to want to confront Kurt. After one conversation, it was clear Kurt wasn't being truthful about his past relationships, and Sharelle didn't know who she was dating. Kurt and Sharelle were defensive when presented with their secrets and lie, which didn't give viewers hope that the pair would continue to date.
Sharelle, much like River from The Circle season 2, was catfishing Kurt into thinking she was younger. Even though they both were revealed to be lying, Kurt and Sharelle were able to open up and blend their lives fully and live happily ever after.
Mia & Kayla (S1, Ep 2)
Even though it doesn't rank among the best reality TV dating shows, Help! I'm In A Secret Relationship is full of drama and heartache. Mia and Kayla's episode was one of the most heartbreaking, with Mia feeling hidden from her fiancé Kayla's family.
Kayla took some time to decide if she wanted to keep Mia in her life but came clean to keep Mia in her life. Even after discovering that Kayla had lied to her, Mia understood why she kept their lives separate and made her feel safe and loved so they could be public with their relationship and finally get married.
Ed & Lynn (S1, E6)
Ed and Lynn made a pact not to lie to each other, but apparently, only one took that promise seriously, as Lynn hid her relationship with Ed for as long as she could. Ed had trust issues since he had been cheated on before and had trust issues. Sadly Ed was right to feel like he was being lied to because Lynn only started talking to Ed as a way to get revenge on her ex.
Ed was visibly devastated that his relationship, which he thought could be his happy ending, was based on deceit and revenge. Fans expected the two to go their separate ways however Ed decided to stay with Lynn and try and make their relationship work.
Rick & Shanelle (S1, Ep 10)
Rick wanted to know why Shanelle hadn't introduced him to her family even after being in a commented relationship and saving to buy a house together. Rick reacted far calmer than most people when Shanelle revealed she had lost almost all of their house fund.
Even though Rick was unhappy, he decided he and Shanelle could work to earn money back and wanted to stay together. Rick seems to be level-headed as all was forgiven with very little explanation when most people would need some time to feel forgiving. The update revealed the reality dating show couple is still together as of the show's release.
Leah and Di'Andre (S1, Ep5)
Leah and Di'Andre seemed like the perfect couple as they have similar interests and want the same things for their future, except Di'andre has been hiding Leah from the world. Leah showed her temper as she didn't want to wait for the confrontation part of the show after the evidence of why Di'Andre was acting like Leah didn't exist.
After trying to lie again even though Leah presented the information she had to him, Di'Andre came out about his gambling addiction and was trying to protect Leah from the people he owed money to. Leah became comforting and helped Di'Andre and ultimately stayed with him.
