The comedic first-person shooter High on Life features a colorful cast of talking weapons which help fuel the game's combat and self-referential humor. The game was created by Squanch Games, a developer founded by Rick and Morty co-creator Justin Roiland. The talking weapons are a main draw in High on Life, and the game luckily has a large and varied arsenal to choose from.

As expected from Rick and Morty creator Justin Roiland, High on Life is ridiculous and hilarious in equal measure. The first-person shooter sees Earth invaded by an evil alien drug cartel, which plans to use the human race as an intergalactic narcotic. In order to save humanity players must collect a number of sentient weapons called Gatlians and use them to fight off the otherworldly cartel. High on Life features "Metroidvania" elements alongside first-person shooter combat, with new weapons being used to access previously unreachable areas. Each Gatlian is truly unique, giving players new abilities in combat and a humorous new personality to accompany them.

High On Life Gives Each Weapon A Personality

The Gatlians are an essential part of the first-person shooter elements, Metroidvania style and comedic tone employed by High on Life. However, humorously there is a way to mute guns in High on Life should players become annoyed by their constant chatter. The first weapon acquired by the player is named Kenny, and this basic pistol is actually voiced by Justin Roiland himself. The actor's voice, which he also lends to both of the titular characters on Rick and Morty, is likely instantly recognizable to fans of the creator. Other notable comedy stars, like Betsy Sodaro and Curb Your Enthusiasm's J.B. Smoove, also lend their voices to various talking weapons throughout the game.
