David Giuntoli’s memorable role adds an ironic twist to his High Potential casting, as “David” completely subverts what Giuntoli is most known for. While he was a heroic detective himself in the past, Kaitlin Olson now takes up the mantle as Giuntoli transforms into the dangerously sharp game maker in High Potential. In another sense, his past adds a uniquely fitting layer to his character. In Grimm, Nick dealt with figures from the Brothers Grimm Fairy Tales who had disrupted the real world. As the unnamed kidnapper in High Potential, Giuntoli disrupted Morgan’s routine with morbidly whimsical riddles and games.
