Bakalova revealed that she signed onto the project because it's an "escapist comedy," which is what she feels audiences need amid the coronavirus pandemic. She looks forward to playing a "strong female character" and teases that the film puts a twist on the typical "buddy comedy" format.
The film is a t effort between the Italian distribution company Notorious Pictures and the UK production company Tempo Production. Bakalova is currently in Italy filming as of this writing. The Honeymoon cast and crew have so far filmed in Rome and Venice. Based on the casts' varied acting backgrounds, the film looks like it's promising to be an entertaining watch.
