Interested players can already start pre-farming Cipher’s materials ahead of Hyacine and Cipher in Honkai: Star Rail 3.3 are 5-star characters, but each character has a different element and Path.
Hyacine is a Wind character following the Path of the Remembrance, while Cipher is a Quantum unit on the Path of the Nihility. Officially, these are the only pieces of gameplay information about each of these characters, but the Version 3.3 leaks have revealed several details about their respective kits. The leaks have mentioned that Hyacine will be a healer in team comps, operating alongside her memosprite, allegedly called Ica. Meanwhile, Cipher’s leaked kit in Honkai: Star Rail 3.3 indicates that she will be a DPS and debuffing for her party, capable of dealing high damage and DEF-shredding opponents.
All Of Cipher's Materials In Honkai: Star Rail 3.3 Have Leaked
Pre-Farming Could Help You Level Cipher Quickly
Alongside the details about their gameplay abilities, the materials for these characters have also leaked. The entire list of materials used by Cipher, specifically, was shared on the character’s page on the Honey Hunter World database. The page highlights every type of material she will consume to fully Ascend to level 80 and completely upgrade her Traces, as well as the quantities needed for these processes. The majority of the materials are already available in the game, with the exception of one item, which may prove to be troublesome to farm once it is released in Honkai: Star Rail.

I've Seen The Honkai: Star Rail 3.3 Leaks, & I'm Sure Hyacine Will Become The Game's Best Healer
All of Hyacine’s abilities in Honkai: Star Rail 3.3 have leaked in her gameplay kit, and she may have the potential to become the game’s best healer.
Players who are interested in pulling for Cipher once she is released could start pre-farming these materials as a means of taking her to the maximum level as soon as she is acquired. The same applies to leveling her Traces. It is worth noting, however, that pre-farming materials based on beta test leaks is somewhat risky, as the list of items is still subject to change ahead of the character’s official release. As such, those who pre-farm may be forced to once again farm certain items because the list of materials for Cipher in Honkai: Star Rail 3.3 has changed.
Where & How To Pre-Farm Cipher's Ascension Materials Before Honkai: Star Rail 3.3
All Leaked Items For This Process Can Be Pre-Farmed
If you are comfortable with the idea of possibly having to farm materials under these circumstances, pre-farming could be a great idea. You should start by pre-farming the Ascension materials – not only are all of them currently available in the game, but completing Cipher’s Ascension will also unlock Trace nodes in her skill tree, so trying to level Traces before the character herself will see you impeded repeatedly. The first set of Cipher materials in the leak is composed of Ethereal Omen, Echoing Wail, and Eternal Lament. These materials drop from Black Tide creatures in Honkai: Star Rail.

After Seeing Honkai: Star Rail 3.4 Leaks, It Looks Like Blade's Buffs May Be Worthless With New Fate Collab Character
Blade’s buff in Honkai: Star Rail 3.4 has long been anticipated, but it may be instantly powercrept by the release of a new Fate collab character.
Black Tide Creatures can be found across several Amphoreus maps, such as Dragonbone City Styxia, but the best way of farming Ethereal Omen, Echoing Wail, and Eternal Lament without relying on locating enemies and waiting for respawn times is to face Calyx (Golden) activities in Amphoreus. These activities, which can drop Character EXP Materials, Light Cone EXP Materials, and Credits, depending on the Bud type, feature Black Tide Creatures and have a certain amount of Ethereal Omen guaranteed per run. By running these, you can coincide farming the materials and resources to level up Cipher in Honkai: Star Rail.
For all items that are part of the same item family, to use the Omni-Synthesizer to transform lower-grade items into rarer ones as the character’s needs increase.
The other Ascension material listed for Cipher in the leaks is called Darkveil Moonlight. This is an Ascension material used exclusively by Quantum characters. Darkveil Moonlight can be farmed at the Stagnant Shadow: Shape of Gelidmoon activity located in the Murmuring Woods map in the Grove of Epiphany on Amphoreus. Because Cipher is a Quantum character and there haven’t been leaks about a new Stagnant Shadow activity for Quantum materials, this may be the safest material to pre-farm. For reference, Darkveil Moonlight is one of the items listed among Tribbie’s and Castorice’s Ascension materials in Honkai: Star Rail.
The leak states that Cipher will require 308,000 Credits to unlock all the Ascension level thresholds. Based on previous characters, you’ll need these 308,000 Ascension Credits on top of another 508,000 Credits to level up Cipher with Character EXP Materials. In case you require more Credits, farm the resource at the Calyx (Golden): Bud of Treasures activity on Amphoreus – that way, you’ll not only obtain Credits, but also Ethereal Omen. Alternatively, if you need Character EXP Materials, run the Calyx (Golden): Bud of Memories on Amphoreus to farm Traveler’s Guide and Etheral Omen in Honkai: Star Rail.
Where & How To Pre-Farm Cipher's Trace Materials Before Honkai: Star Rail 3.3
One Important Leaked Item Cannot Be Pre-Farmed
Ethereal Omen, Echoing Wail, and Eternal Lament are also used for Cipher’s Trace-leveling process, according to the leaks. Aside from the previously mentioned methods, which are the best ways of farming these items, you can also obtain more copies of Ethereal Omen from the Embers Exchange shop every month, as well as from Assignments. If you’re running low on Ethereal Omen and, subsequently Echoing Wail and Eternal Lament, be sure to use all available methods to increase your gains in Honkai: Star Rail.

Honkai Star Rail 3.3 Leaks: New Free Character Event Can Significantly Help F2P Players
Players may get a free 4-star character during a Honkai: Star Rail 3.3 event, and the selection of units is fantastic compared to previous iterations.
The other set of leaked materials used in Cipher’s Trace-leveling process is composed of Fiery Spirit, Starfire Essence, and Heaven Incinerator. Part of the same item family, these three materials are best farmed from the Calyx (Crimson): Bud of Nihility activity located in the Alchemy Commission map on the Xianzhou Luofu. These may be some of the most time-consuming items to farm in Cipher’s entire kit, so pre-farming them could give you the upper hand and spare you from some fatiguing grinding in Honkai: Star Rail once she is released.
The truly problematic item in Cipher’s leaked list of materials is a weekly boss material that hasn’t even had its official name leaked yet. This new weekly boss material from Honkai: Star Rail 3.3 will presumably drop from the new weekly boss challenge that is rumored for release in the patch. Because it isn’t available right now, it cannot be pre-farmed. Also, because the weekly boss can only be challenged thrice per week, players will likely have to dedicate the three weeks following Version 3.3’s release to farm this material for Cipher.
Based on the leaks about the character banners in Honkai: Star Rail 3.3, Cipher will be released in Phase 2, meaning players will have three weeks to farm this item before her official release, which will replace Hyacine.
The last material used for Cipher’s Traces, much like any other character in the game, is Tracks of Destiny. These rare Trace materials can be farmed weekly from the Simulated or Divergent Universe activities. They are also rewards for certain limited-time events and can also be obtained from the battle , Embers Exchange, and reputation systems. To fuel the entire Trace-leveling process, you’ll also need 3 million Credits, which, again, can be farmed at Calyx (Golden): Bud of Treasures in Amphoreus. Aside from the weekly boss material, pre-farming for Cipher in Honkai: Star Rail is relatively straightforward.
