The first game, Horizon Zero Dawn featured a large open world full of various characters to meet and side quests to complete. Like any open-world RPG, the game gave players a vast multitude of ways to spend their time, with everything from hunting specific machines to collecting resources for crafting. For the second game in the series, Guerilla is likely to improve aspects where it can while still respecting the spirit of the first game and what made players like it. Horizon Forbidden West will feature plenty of new content, such as weapons and combat mechanics, which Guerilla has already discussed.

The post continues with a glimpse of new content, a city called Chainscrape. Chainscrape is an Oseram settlement that players will visit early on in Horizon Forbidden West. The Lead Living World Designer, Espen Sogn, explains that this is an example of a way in which Horizon Forbidden West improves upon its predecessor.
