As you work through the game, the number of ships at your disposal will grow, making it vital that you know how to change between them as quickly as possible. For different quests and missions, different Ships will serve their purposes. Each ship is unique, from having different weapons at their disposal to varying shield strengths for defensive duties in conflict, as well as how much cargo and crew they can hold.

How To Change Ships In Starfield

It isn't made obvious when playing through Starfield, but you can change Ships easily at every Spaceport. Once you have left your ship, you need to find and speak to a Ship Technician. These can be found near where your ship has docked, some based in nearby buildings called Ship Services.

You need to speak to a Ship Technician, and one of the options for conversation is "I'd like to view and modify my ships," which should be selected to change ships.

It will bring up your current Ship with all its details and information, but it will also let you scroll through any other ships you own in Starfield. Once you have found the one you wish to switch to, you need to select it as your home ship, and this will then be the one that spawns at the Spaceport. You can also Repair Ships in Starfield by Speaking to the same Technicians by paying 1000 credits.

The other way to Switch ships in Starfield is when you have increasing a Ships Storage in Starfield.

You will spend a lot of the time with your ships in Starfield, as they are required for many core elements of the game, and being able to change between each one is vital.
