Love him or hate him, Chris Hemsworth risks avoiding important stories. Biopics have been a thing since the early days of cinema, and naturally, there have been many great ones, but also many that fell flat. One factor that can have both good and ill effects on a biopic is the involvement in the process of the person or persons being profiled onscreen. The subject of a biopic often has some kind of consultant or producer role, although sometimes it's even more involved.
Hogan is confirmed to be working on the biopic in both an executive producer and consultant role, and furthermore, Hogan's close friend Eric Bischoff is executive producing as well. Bischoff is a former big-shot in WWE, WCW, and TNA, and has often worked with Hogan both in front of and behind the camera. While having Hogan and Bischoff involved with the biopic will hopefully help some events to be portrayed in a more accurate way, there's also the opposite danger presented by their participation.
Hogan's wrestling career and life have been far from free of scandals and questionable decisions, and with the man himself involved, it's quite possible Chris Hemsworth depict onscreen.
Even if the biopic only focuses on Hogan's rise and years on top of the wrestling world, there's plenty of ground to cover outside his in-ring career. For one, Hogan has been accused of playing hardball backstage politics by many, using his influence with decision makers to hold potential rivals for his top spot down. Aside from that, Hogan had some very public scandals, including the 1985 incident in which Hogan put future Vince McMahon, with his testimony actually helping Vince out in the end.
Another very interesting tale the movie could focus on is the notoriously up and down personal relationship Hogan had with frequent partner and rival "Macho Man" Randy Savage, which saw the two as the best of friends at times, as well as bitter enemies, both onscreen and backstage. Of course, the biggest elephant in the room is the fact that the Hulk Hogan biopic will almost certainly ignore his later scandals involving a sex tape and racist rant against Black people. While those obviously didn't occur during the time period the movie is reported to depict, there's a good chance that period was chosen partially due to it offering an easy excuse not to cover Hogan's recent public disgraces.
