According to Yoshihiro Togashi, the creator of Hunter X Hunter, the 19th chapter's tease, and his confirmation of needing to write another 3 chapters (via Variety), Hunter X Hunter will make a dramatic return with potentially 21 Chapters. With its long sought return, fans are eager to see what surprises Togashi has in store.

Besides Eiichiro Oda who created One Piece, Togashi is known for crazy revelations and plotlines that were alluded to dozens, if not hundreds of chapters before. With that knowledge, many theories have come to light on what direction Hunter X Hunter could take through the foreshadowings Togashi created, which may potentially be explored in the series manga continuation.

What Kind Of Hunter Will Gon Become?

Hunter X Hunter character Gon Freecs flashing a Piece Sign.

Despite Gon's excitement and determination to the Hunter Exam at 10 years old like his father did, and see why being a Hunter meant so much to him, Gon had no personal reason to take the exam. After receiving his Hunter license, Gon's sole objective is to find his father sparing thought to little else, except when distracted by big events.

After Gon finds his father and Killua parted ways with him to travel with Alluka, Gon is on his own for the first time since the series beginning. Based on Gon's personality, it can be speculated that Gon may become an Unknown Hunter, who has no true specialty and merely chooses to pursue whatever new topic catches their interest, and it would work well with the series pattern of naturally transitioning to new arcs.

Palm's Fate

Hunter X Hunter character Palm in her Post Chimera Ant Transformation form.

After infiltrating the NGL, Palm was captured and transformed into a Chimera Ant, though fortunately, she still retains much of her personality, giving hope to her comrades for her eventual recovery.

While Palm always had an impressive murderous streak, after she was transformed into a Chimera Ant her outbursts seem far less controlled and far more dangerous. With her precious Master Knov permanently incapacitated, Palm's ability to re-integrate into society is difficult at best with no one knowing the true extent of what her transformation means for her as a human.

Who Killed Neon?

Image of Hunter X Hunter character Neon Noastrade using The Lovely Ghostwriter.

The Nostrade family came into prominence when Light marketed his daughter Neon's exceptionally accurate future telling Nen abilities to anyone who could pay the exorbitant price. However, after Chrollo stole Neon's abilities, the two essentially went into seclusion.

During the current Dark Continent Arc, when Chrollo attempts to use The Lovely Ghostwriter, he notices that it has disappeared which should only happen if Neon had died. With Neon's offscreen death, it is highly likely a rival family of the Nostrade's killed her, or, it could potentially be a calculated move made to potentially weaken Chrollo in any way possible.

Reincarnated Kite/Reina's Future

Shortly after Neferpitou was born, she quickly located Kite through her Ren, hunted him down, and killed him. Unbeknown to everyone, Kite had managed to resurrect himself through his Nen Ability Crazy Slots, even managing to retain his abilities though he did happen to revive in the body of the young girl Reina.

After regrouping with his research assistants, Kite will more than likely resume his work as an endangered species Hunter. While the Chimera Ant threat has seemingly ed, Kite will have more than enough work studying the numerous different variations of Chimera ants and how they integrate into society, and what it means for humanity as a whole in Hunter X Hunter's well-deserved second season upon its anime's return.

Is Feitan A Zoldyck?

Image of Hunter X Hunter character Feitan Portor wielding a sword.

After the deaths of Uvogin, and Pakunoda, the Phantom Troupe recruited Kalluto Zoldyck, the younger brother of Killua Zoldyck, one of anime's best white-haired anime boys, to fill its ranks. While Kalluto claimed his main interest was to search for his brother, which many fans meant to mean Killua, Kalluto never actually mentioned Killua, nor did he seem interested in learning his location.

While Feitan displays no resemblance to Killua, his pale skill, dark straight hair, and propensity for murder are almost identical to the other children of Silva and Kikyo Zoldyck. Knowing the Zoldyck's, especially Silva's, willingness to go to any extremes to train his children, leaving Feitan in Meteor City to see if he would survive, is a very real possibility.

Where Are Killua And Alluka Going?

Image of Hunter X Hunter character Killua being kissed on his cheek by his sister Alluka.

Alluka Zoldyck is the younger sister of one of the strongest nen s, Killua Zoldyck, and is possessed by a creature named Nanika. After Nanika successfully heals Gon from the horrible injuries he incurred from his Nen Contract, Killua and Alluka decide to travel the world to get as far away from other Zoldyck's as possible.

With the Zoldyck family guaranteed to work tirelessly to re-capture the two and bring them back,  it is possible that Killua and Alluka may be heading to Leorio's home country. With Leorio's home being far removed, and Killua trusting him more than most, Killua would more than likely seek out Leorio's medical expertise should anything happen to Alluka.

Phantom Troupe's Future Predictions

After stealing Neon's Nen ability The Lovely Ghostwriter, Chrollo uses the ability on most of the Phantom Troupe in an attempt to see what actions they should take to combat the "Chain " (Kurapika). Many of the Troupes predictions alluded to their own deaths, including Pakunoda, Shalnark, and Shizuku, all of which except Shizuku have died.

With Neon Nostrade's death confirmed by Chrollo, the Troupe member's fates now hang in the balance. With no ability to check if their fates have changed, new and old spiders alike are in the dark as to whether they will share in the other's fates. With The Lovely Ghost Writer gone, it is also unknown whether their fortunes will still come true and what the repercussions of the loss of her ability means.

Zushi

Image of Hunter X Hunter character Zushi releasing his en.

Zushi is the disciple of the Nen Master Wing, and a Nen student alongside Gon and Kurapika when they also receive instruction from Wing when making their way through Heaven's arena. While Gon and Killua leave soon after Gon returns Hisoka's badge, Zushi stays at Heaven's arena where he plans to slowly make his way up to the Battle Olympia.

With Killua previously mentioning that Gon may be interested in fighting Heaven's arena floor masters, and Gon having nothing to do, Gon will potentially return to Heaven's arena to refine his newly acquired skills. And if he does, it is quite likely he will encounter a significantly stronger Zushi who has spent his time diligently training while waiting for Gon to return.

Hisoka And Gon's Rematch

Image of Hunter X Hunter fight Gon vs Hisoka.

During the Hunter Exam's third phase, Hisoka, one of anime's scariest Yandere characters, saved Gon who was attacked while his guard was down, which allowed him to the third phase, but Gon refused to accept his Hunter License until after he returned Hisoka's badge. During their fight, Gon was able to return the badge, however, against one of the strongest nen s in Hunter X Hunter, Gon still lost spectacularly with Hisoka hardly trying.

While the fight ended with Hisoka's win, the battle could have gone significantly longer if given the opportunity. And with Hisoka's cryptic warning that any future fight would be to the death, and Hisoka being close to Kurapika, should Hisoka attack Kurapika and Gon finds out, Gon would go to any lengths to hunt him down and kill him.

Gyro

Image of Hunter X Hunter character Gyro in his first and only Manga Appearance.

During the Chimera Ants mass slaughter of the citizens of the NGL, the NGL's leader and King Gyro was among those who were eaten. Though a slim chance, the Chimera Ants who retained their memories of Gyro speculated that his ego was too great to be destroyed, and that he had an exceptionally high chance of being reborn as a Chimera Ant.

While the previous King Meruem was a cataclysmic threat himself, Gyro's foresight to not draw attention to himself, as well as newfound strength of  chimera ant could make him an even greater threat than Meruem. Gyro's charisma was great enough to allow him to become the leader of one of the most notorious countries in the world, and with his ability to reproduce as a King, the untold horrors he could unleash on the world may make him the greatest threat in the entirety of the Hunter X Hunter series.
