The preview pages for Catwoman #68 by Tini Howard and Carmine Di Giandomenico promise a thrilling confrontation between two Gotham rogues who hate each other. As revealed in a cliffhanger from the issue before, Catwoman and Hush.

Unfortunately, there's no better surgeon to help Selina Kyle remove the foreign object in her brain that's killing her. The only problem is that the very person who can save her - by reconstructing her brain - is a villain who previously tried to kill her by removing her heart.

Catwoman's Life Is in the Hands of Her Near-Killer, Hush

While Catwoman has her own Cat-Family, she is still a member of the Bat-Family, no matter what. Her on-again-off-again relationship with Batman has caused more than enough trouble for the both of them - including during Hush's debut in Batman: Hush by Jeph Loeb and Jim Lee. In this story arc, Catwoman was first accepted into the Bat-Family - but Hush was also attempting to dismantle Batman by taking down those he loved. The next attempt to do so was much, much darker.

In the Heart of Hush storyline by Paul Dini and Dustin Nguyen, Hush struck the Dark Knight where it hurt most. Hush surgically removed Catwoman's heart and left a series of clues to see if Batman could save the woman he loved. Scars aside, there has never been a greater rift between Catwoman and Batman in current comics, as she rejects Batman's love and turns to Hush for help instead, the very man who tried to kill her.

Not only is Hush going to help Catwoman, but it seems he desperately wants something more than her heart this time - he wants a fully healthy subject. The depravity of Hush knows no bounds - and yet, when her life is on the line and when the White Glove is killing her friends, even though Catwoman is one of the Bat-Family's best fighters, her brain swell leaves her no free will.

Fans will have to trust Hush in Catwoman's stead, as she is unconscious and at the mercy of a killer in the preview pages of Catwoman #68. Her life may be saved, but at a greater cost. The Catwoman that comes out of this series might be unrecognizable, all thanks to the work of the villain Hush.
