Infinity Nikki is a brand-new action/adventure gacha game, and within the very first week of its release people have already begun cheating. This is odd for a few reasons, the biggest one being that Infinity Nikki isn't a PvP game so cheating seems strange. Furthermore, it's a very cozy, dress-up-focused game with such low stakes, so anything a player would normally cheat on isn't really relevant.
Infold Games announced on X that it had banned over 80 s that were caught cheating. There's no PvP in Infinity Nikki, only very basic combat against enemies. Nikki only has one attack and an assortment of Ability Outfits that allow her to jump, float, and interact with the world in unique ways. The main focus of the gameplay is dres and competing in Styling Challenges against NPCs, but it was still found that people are cheating anyway.
Infinity Nikki Doesn't Have PvP, What Does Cheating Do?
From Free Pulls To Increased Points, There Aren't Any Limits
As mentioned previously, Infinity Nikki is a gacha game, and gachas make the most money off their ability to motivate players to spend money on pulls and currency, but it's also a free-to-play game. This means that many of the playerbase are unwilling to spend more than a few dollars, if any at all, to enjoy what the game has to offer, but these F2P players will likely feel like they're missing out. If a player is desperate enough, they might be inclined to find ways to get free in-game resources in order to avoid spending money.
Infold wants to protect the players who aren't cheating, providing the same gameplay experience to all players.
Infold, in the same announcement on X, explains that cheating "undermine[s] the fair and positive atmosphere we strive to maintain and create an unjust experience for Stylists who play honestly." Cheating at the gacha, or in order to gain more currency, devalues the efforts of those who don't cheat, and Infold wants to protect all the people who aren't cheating, providing the same gameplay experience to all players.
There are many ways to get free Diamonds in Infinity Nikki, without cheating.
It could also be that people who cheated didn't want to collect the resources needed to craft some of the outfits players are provided. The resource gathering can be a bit tedious, but one of the selling points of the game is that it's slow-paced and cozy. If players don't enjoy one of the game's main mechanics and tasks, perhaps Infinity Nikki isn't the game for them. Either way, 83 s have been permanently banned per Infold's report on December 8th, 2024, which bodes well for the future of Infinity Nikki for a few reasons.
Infold's Response To Cheaters Signals A Bright Future For The Game
The Studio's Attentiveness To Service Shows Through Frequent Updates
Anyone following Infinity Nikki on X or in their Discord will know that the Nikki team has been nothing but forthcoming with its updates and communication since the game came out on December 5, and the studio's response to cheaters shows how much it cares about making Infinity Nikki a success. Many dev teams, most notoriously those behind Overwatch 2, CS:GO, and other FPS games, tend to have a hard time routing out cheaters in their games to the point where it begins to kill player enthusiasm.

Infinity Nikki Celebrates 10 Million s With Special Gift For All Players
Infinity Nikki has reached an impressive 10 million worldwide s less than a week after its release, and it's celebrating with a free reward.
No matter the reason for the cheating, it's encouraging for players to see Infold Games taking the health and success of Infinity Nikki so seriously. From the frequent social media updates to the free Diamonds in players' inboxes, Infold seems to be doing everything it can to make Infinity Nikki's launch as smooth as possible. Based on what's been seen so far, players can take heart that this super-cute game will continue to receive prompt and effective moving forward.
