Interview With The Vampire season 2 news is starting to trickle in for the AMC Anne Rice television universe. Based on the debut novel in Rice's monumental Vampire Chronicles series, Interview With the Vampire follows vampire Louis de Pointe du Lac who recounts his astounding life to a journalist. Though the story has been adapted before, the AMC series fleshes out Rice's original ideas while also modernizing them for a contemporary audience.
Met with almost universal critical acclaim, AMC's Interview With the Vampire garnered high praise for its playful tone and deft handling of Rice's complicated writing (via Rotten Tomatoes). The critical reception was just icing on the cake for AMC, who have gone all in on the Anne Rice universe with their companion series The Mayfair Witches, which is set in the same universe. With all that in mind, Interview With the Vampire season 2 was a foregone conclusion.

AMC’s Interview With The Vampire Season 2 Story Details
The Second Half Of Anne Rice's Novel
The first season ended with only half of the first book's story told, which means the Interview with the Vampire season 2 story will finish off the first book's plot. The first season also ended on a major cliffhanger as Claudia convinced Louis to help her murder Lestat, so they could escape his clutches. However, Louis couldn't do it, and he ended up saving Lestat by sending him in a coffin (with locks on the inside) to a rat-infested dump, so the vampire could heal himself over time.
It is also interesting to see in the first season that Louis was lying to Daniel, at least about important details of his story. This brings a lot of questions into focus as it makes Louis an unreliable narrator, and viewers can't be sure that anything he has said is accurate or truthful, at least at face value. There was also the reveal at the end of Interview With the Vampire season 1 that Rashid was Armand from the novels, and that opens an entirely new world for Interview With the Vampire season 2.

Despite the delays caused by the SAG-AFTRA strike, AMC has released an official teaser trailer for Interview With the Vampire season 2. At just over a minute long, the Interview With the Vampire teaser released at SDCC 2023 doesn't reveal a huge amount about the specific plot details, but it does set up the general premise, that the show is moving to Europe and will involve a blood coven linked to Lestat. Additionally, the tease for Interview With the Vampire season 2 also gave viewers their first look at the recast Claudia, played now by Delainey Hayles.
Less than a month before the show's premiere date, an extended trailer for Interview With the Vampire season 3 was dropped by AMC. While reintroducing the interview format that is integral to the show's storytelling, the lengthy trailer also catches back up with Armand and Louis after the surprising revelation at the end of season 1. The trailer also showcases a bit of what happened in the past and chronicles how Claudia and Louis struggled after their conspiracy against Lestat.
AMC has released a third, and presumably final, trailer for Interview With the Vampire season 2 that hammers home what the themes of the sophomore season will be. Like the previous trailers, the bulk of the runtime is dedicated to Louis and Claudia in the immediate aftermath of their betrayal of Lestat. However, it also shows a lot of the modern-day storyline, with Armand taking center stage in the eponymous interview segments.
